Then came our big and terrible fight with the bloat and the torsion - it continued five years!! It was very hard time for me and my family. How many sleepless nights, how many dreaded fears..how many broken dreams and hopes. Here is the place to say that I know very well all rules how to prevent the bloat...but all these rules weren't working for us - that just happened. And it was really dread - to see their eyes, full with pain, but you can't help them at all. I can't never forget that.

Dangy had so many bloats but he never torsioned. He passed away from spleen and pancreas illness. The bloats just destroyed them.
Adrian had three bloats and passed away from torsion - he didn't survive the operation, his heart was just brocken from it.
Deina passed away because of the liver problems.
So that is my sad balance-experience:
Deina - 9 July 1995 - 31 October 2003
Dangy - 5 June 1998 - 30 December 2002
Adrian - 6 April 1998 - 8 January 2006
Goodbye, my beloved Dangy, Deina and Adrian!! I miss you all so much!! I will keep the memory for you in my heart forever.
The cause of GDV (Gastric dilatation-volvulus syndrome ) is unknown. The prevention of the bloat and the torsion is difficult and very uncertain.
I would wish to know the causes and how to protect my next danes from it...
This picture is made one month before Adrian's death. I love it so much because I see my happy, unsuspecting nothing, face. After Adrian's death I looked at the other pictures from that day and saw the pain in his eyes. It seems that he was knowing then that we have a short time together!! What an amazing and enigmatic creatures are the dogs!!
