Skyline Minature Horses has been in business since 1982. Located at the foot of the Texas Hill Country, just outside the State Capitol, Austin, I have been striving to raise the ultimate show quality miniature horse and sell them to the public for close to pet prices.
Skyline horses have been sold internationally and has started many people in their quest to start their own breeding programs. Skyline horses have also launched many new owners in their show ring endeavers, both in miniature horses shows and open breed shows.
Skyline horses can boast of having a mare that was a National Record Holder in Harness Racing, several AMHR National titles and Regional titles. In local shows, AMHA and AMHR, they have placed first, many times to go on to the Champion class, on to the Grand Champion class and then to the ultimate, Champion of Champions class, to be crowned the Best in Show, the "Champion of Champions"!!
Here at Skyline, I have some of the oldest and most sought after bloodlines in the miniature horse business. My breeding stock contains these bloodlines: Freeman, Ayers, Komoko, Kahoka, Boones Little Buckaroo, NFCS, Bond, Hobby Horse, Rowdy, Cross Country Call Me Sir, Flamingo, Rhotens Little Dandy, Little Trigger, Dell Teras, Alamos, Hemlock Brooks, Gold Melody Boy, Shadow Oaks, Lucky Four, Landrys, just to name a few.
I breed for the "middle of the road" type horse, not real heavy boned nor the real refined boned of the Arabian type, although I do get one of the extreme types every now and then. I'm trying to breed horses that can do well in the halter classes and performance classes. They should be able to do obstacle, hunter/jumper and driving classes with proper training and yet, be the best friend and backyard pet anyone could ask for.
