Now What you may have in front of you is your plain psp,With only what you are supposed to have on it and not anything "Bad"
Now let me tell you something your psp can be so much more than what you have right now.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Most psp related stuff comes in Zipped Format. You will need to download winrar Here Now
after installing winrar, and you have the homebrew file you want(Look at
the bottom for homebrew links)
You NEED TO HAVE VERSION 1.5 OR 1.0(IN THIS GUIDE I AM TALKING ABOUT
1.5 ONLY)To find out what firmware you have navigate all the way to the
left of the psp homescreen, and go to where it says system settings.Go
there and, pick System Information. It should say what firmware you have.
After You have all the above follow the guide Below.

GUIDE TO USING HOMEBREW
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you have a file that has 2 file like this: Homebrew and Homebrew%
That is easy you just put those in psp/game
But when you have a file with 1 single eboot file it is a diffrent process download sei psp tool Here and follow the guide below.
Once downloaded you should have a ".rar" file, right click on
this file and extract to either your Desktop or a folder of your
choice, you should have a PSP looking icon...double click on this icon
and it will bring up a window, in the first box it will say "Name", you
can put in any name that you like, the second box is named "PBP
file"...click on the box next to it that has the 3 dots...then select
"from file"...select the "Eboot.pbp" file from the emulator that you
wish to load (i.e. SNES9X003A.zip only has one "Eboot.pbp file, you
will need two, one for SNES and another for SNES%)..once selected go to
the box below "PBP File" and it will say "PSP Unit", select the drive
that your PSP is connected to(if you are just now connecting your PSP
you may want to click on the "refresh" button to right of "PSP Unit"
box)....then click on "Generate"...then select the firmware you have
(1.5=U.S. & 1.0=JAPAN)...this will generate a launcher to your
PSP...
