Just a little reshuffle... Don't be alarmed... |
24/02/2006
As it's spring soon, we decided to have a little reshuffle (come on guys it's our work, as if we're going to throw anything out) and make it a little easier to view the work. Also it takes up fewer pages and is easier to manage, but shush... Hope you like the changes, let us know if you don't...
By the way, Venice was excellent. It is possibly one of the best cities I've been too. The people are friendly, the views are spectacular, there is art in the museums I have only ever seen in postcards and you can find the best pizza and pasta in the world (well, the most authentic!) As much as I love this crazy kick arse country, I honestly didn't want to leave, I just wanted to stay another week. But, lucky for you guys I'm back, more cultured than ever, and someone is here to update this site. How could you ever live without me? Ciao mi bella bambinis,
Sarah

Big news! 02/02/06
Well, I went for a university interview at the Unviersity of Wales Institute Cardiff (UWIC to you and me) and... I got accepted! I was very excited about this so I thought I'd let you all know my happy news! I just have to pass my course and in October book will be off to the distant land of Cardiff, Wales. I'd really love to study Art and Art History there, the city is amazing, so easy to get around and the shopping, well, it's fantastic. Oh and there are many many hot Welshmen, if you ever get the chance, go!
Another little nugget of news... Our college is off on a trip (*cough cough* "foreign research visit" ) to Venice, Italy. Unfortunately, Joe isn't going, but he has bravely volunteered to man the fort while I'm away. I wish he was going and he will be sadly missed, as it's half term week the week after. Don't worry, I will try and bring you back a stick of rock... that's if they sell it of course! Maybe I could smuggle a gondola into my luggage on the way back...hmm
That's all for now, yolks! Sarah

Chinese Whispers + Chatroom |
09/04/06
Hello again, You may have noticed that latley there hasn't been many updates. But they are on the way and we are working very hard. There will be 2 or maybe even 3 new pages online by the end of this week. Also in others new we have created a new freewebs account to accompany are newest idea for a second "book" this book has a big twist tho, there is no longer one book but three books and maybe even more, read up about it on are cool new website www.freewebs.com/ArtofWhispers
We have just added a chatroom and we will be doing live chats so you can ask us about our work and anything you would like to ask. If the chatroom goes well and people are using it we will keep it on here and maybe even have a set time for when either Sarah, Gaz or Joe will be online to chat to you. If on the other hand things don't go so well and no one is using them, they will sadly be removed.
Thanks for your interest
Joe

So long chatroom |
Due to the unaccessibility of the chatroom we have deleted it from the site. We've had one before and it hasn't worked on here (mainly because it uses programs some of our systems can't uphold) but hopefully we'll be able to get a new one in the near future but until then, and as always, we are available via email at sketchbookart@hotmail.co.uk if you wish to contact any of us.

Sketchbookart's little diary |
Hello everybody! After suggestions from many people we've decided to add a kind of diary page onto the site, just to let you know how things are going and what we're up to.
Lately I've been a bit taken aback when looking at our project; working out how long it will take, when it should arrive where, and who it will end up with when we're finished. It should end with Garry on the 29th of November 2006. It seems so far away now but I know it will catch up with us quickly and next September two of us will be off to Uni (hopefully!).It's quite a challenge in a way, because our book will last for 60 weeks, as opposed to the 36 that the other book (www.lookatbook.com) took to travel.
We've been throwing a few ideas around and have come up with the idea of having a book tour after it is finished, going around local galleries (hopefully up and down the country) and exhibiting the book in a similar way to how the 'mother project', as it were, exhibited theirs. Another idea would be to have copies of book printed somehow. I'd really appreciate any feedback on these ideas, either by emailing us directly or via sketchbookart@hotmail.co.uk

Are you sitting on the edge of your seat? |
No? You're not? Well you should be because there'll be updates on the site really soon! By the end of this week book's newest pages will be up and online for all you lovely people to see. Also, something else worth taking a gander at is the new project site, Chinese whispers (check out the links page for the website) using descriptions as starting points. It's fully participative; you can use the 'clues' or descriptions for your own version.

Delay - 14/05/07 |
Sorry for the delay in entries recently. Uni work has been pretty hectic of late for both Joe and myself, plus, being a student, funds are stretched rather tight. Service should resume shortly though as summer looms and days of working busily on book stretch out ahead of us.

New pages! |

That's right, yes, you read that correctly. The new pages are up. The images have been thrust blinking into the vast void of the internet for your viewing pleasure. So please, enjoy.
Please give a thought to Joe on Friday - He has an interview for uni at Herts. Good luck, Joe!
