Where skeloric's TORG ideas
and Cosms can be found...

The Possibility Wars...

Once upon a time, a bolder and brighter version of our world was invaded by other places.  They used strange sentient devices of Primal Darkness to tear a hole from their reality into "our" reality.  This altered places on Earth -- called Core Earth -- into places where their rules and ways were right.  Their purpose seemed absurd yet somehow possibile,  they would suck from Core Earth
the very energies that made existance possibile --
THE POSSIBILITIES THEMSELVES

The Enemy Revealed.

The mastermind behind this nefarious scheme was a being coldy rational yet totally alien--
The Gaunt Man!
He was the master of Orrorsh, its High Lord and his place -- his Cosm -- was where the nightmares were real and man was born to fear the darkness for within it lurked HORRORS.
With him he brought allies, for Core Earth was more than even he could conquer and "devour".
Others followed representing the many Genres (and sub-Genres) of fiction...
Fantasy, '30s Pulps, Primitive "Lost World",  Cyberpunk (though with a twist...),
Near Future "Noir" Dystopia.
Thus they were, carving the world between them.
  • Orrorsh
  • Aysle
  • Nile Empire
  • Living Land
  • CyberPapacy
  • NipponTech

The defenders arise.

Soldiers gathered to repel the invasions but found that their weapons became unreliable as the rules changed.
People began to lose themselves to the new ways and patterns as their existance was rewritten
to conform to the invaders' different realities, thus forgetting all that they were and could have been.
Core Earth is not defenseless though...

For every hundred or so that changed to conform to the realities of the invaders, one found within the power to refuse to conform to the new reality.  The invaders knew them as Stormers and declared them a side effect of the violent storms that accompanied their many invasions. They considered them to be a minor annoyance at best, hunting them for amusement and recreation.  But on Core Earth it all changed.  The people began to see themselves as something more than an aberration.
They saw something noble in their struggle to save Earth.
They saw themselves as knights.
Storm Knights.

The War progressed...

As the war raged on several new Cosms appeared:
Tharkold --
A disturbing vision of "Cyber-Horror"
with cyberware-weilding Demons and a humanity
waging a desperate war for the right to survive.
A 3000 year war that looked somewhat like the
"dark future" sequences from the Terminator series of films.
They had tried to invade earlier with the rest of the invaders
but failed...

They had been denied access to Core Earth
by Storm Knight intervention.
They tried again seeking revenge...

Space Gods --
"Chariots of the Gods" by
Erich Von Daniken
was never like this...
Technology almost exclusively biological in nature.
Living starships that were grown instead of built.
A people who had mastered Psionic Powers.
Early in the war an adventure led to the lighting
of a signal fire...
They answered the call... seeking our help.
They were the first non-invasive reality.

The Land Below --
A hybrid of the Living Land's primitive "lost World"
and the '30s Pulp of the Nile Empire.
Strong overtones of "Journey to the Center of the Earth"
by Jules Verne.

An entirely subterrainean Cosm with "tendril-like"
tunnels
that reach out to attach itself to the world...
and its invaders.

The second non-invasive reality.

ATTENTION:
WEST END GAMES seems to be faltering and soon to depart.
Its almost like having a death in the family.
There's shock and some grief but its more like I can't take it all in.
As time goes on the forums will probably close and these links will be removed.
The game (or portions thereof) -- as well as "D6" products --
can still be purchased at
RPGNOW  but for how long?

Addendum:
WEG may be sold off at some point in the future.
An event -- if it comes to pass -- may breathe new life into the company
and hopefully at last bring about new product for TORG.

NEW FORUM!

While WEG's forums seem quite dead
-- though as yet unburied --
there is another that has arisen from its ashes.
Leaner and perhaps a bit more vibrant than
the last sputtering gasps of its predecessor.
Thus,  I offer you welcome if you seek
a community that still remains active.
