Symarip, (also known as The Bees, The Pyramids, Seven Letters and Zubaba) were a ska and reggae band from the United Kingdom, originating in the late 1960s. The band's name is an approximate anagram of the word pyramids. Consisting of members of West Indian descent, Symarip is widely marked as one of the original skinhead bands, being one of the first to target skinheads as an audience. Their style of music became known as skinhead reggae, and their hits included "Skinhead Moonstomp", "Skinhead Girl" and "Skinhead Jamboree".
In 1980, the album Skinhead Moonstomp was re-issued in the wake of the 2 Tone craze, hitting the UK pop charts for the first time. The band officially split in 1983. Trojan Records released a best of album in 2004 — with a new single, "Back From the Moon", performed by two of the former band members, Monty Neysmith and Roy Ellis. The band toured all over the world and of late, Roy Ellis tours as Mr Symarip.

Another UK Ska legend, Roddy has been plying his trade for over 40 years. The story begins when Jerry Dammers asked Roddy to punk up his new band "The Coventry Automatics" who became the "The Specials" who were the founders of the famous 2Tone records label that also helped spawn the careers of bands such as Madness, The Selecter, The Bodysnatchers and The Beat to name a few. The Specials were a driving force behind the re-emergence of Skinhead and rude boy cults in the UK. Roddy & The Specials notched up 7 top ten hits including 2 number Ones ("Too Much Too Young" & "Ghost Town") and two top 5 albums ("Specials" & "More Specials") before the famed acrimonious split of 1981.
Roddy re-emerged with The Tearjerkers then moved onto The Bonediggers, with their raw hard edged rockabilly slant, and then The Raiders, a more rock outfit. He was an essential part of The Specials 2, who reformed in the early 90s after teaming up with Desmond Dekker for the "King Of Kings" album. The group toured seriously and made a whole-hearted attempt to rekindle the ska scene. They released 2 singles ("Hypocrite" & "Pressure Drop") and 2 albums ("Todays Specials" & the better "Guilty Til Proved Innocent") before they called it a day. There were also the "Conquering Ruler" and "Skinhead Girl" albums Rod played on with three other Specials, a compilation of their favourite Skinhead Reggae tracks. Roddy has guested on many artists' tracks over the years, lately including "Too Hot" and "The Rough Kutz" ,two of the UK's top ska bands.
Rod's current project "The Skabilly Rebels" are a Coventry based outfit, mixing their own punky brand of rockabilly with the rhythmic lilt of Ska.They are on the verge of a studio album "Blues Attack" and have toured extensively around the UK and Europe.

Rebelation was born in late 1994 and their initial sound was heavily influenced by the likes of The Clash, Specials & The Beat, plus Jah Shaka and the other big English dub reggae sound systems of the time. With the passage of time the sound is more refined and authentic. Their traditional Ska is influenced by the Skatalites; their reggae and rocksteady is influenced by Treasure Isle and Studio 1 stable of the late sixties/early seventies. However, Rebelation do not consider themselves as a revival or retro band but as a modernist and progressor of the reggae sound.
Rebelation have traveled well over the years mashing up venues in towns and cities not just in the UK but in Europe too, building up a loyal following along the way and putting themselves in the forefront of the well established UK ska scene, playing alongside bands such as Bad Manners, The Selecter, Snuff, Asian Dub Foundation, Soulwax, Laurel Aitken and Zion Train to name but a few.
In early 2004 their first album "Steppas" was re-released on Do The Dog Music. In April 2007 a full length album ‘State of the Union’ was released on Do the Dog Music – a blistering 12 track album of ska scorchers, rootsy reggae and smooth rocksteady.

Django was formed in 2006 of artist who have "done time" with some of the best known unsigned Ska bands on the scene, including, 2 Tonic, Urban Rhythm, Orange Street and the Loonee Toons. Steve Gale (guitar), Vijay Burner (guitar and backing vocals), Chris Welch (trumpet) and Rich Hawthorn (drums) were also part of Bad Manners for a while. Liam Dixon (keyboard) and Rich often play with Neville Staple's band. Also in the line-up are Ralph Cook (vocals), Tony Kennedy (bass) and Trev (Swifty) Swift (sax).
They are currently heading into the studio and will be recording their own material (some of which is already in the set).

Formed in Mid Wales in the summer of 2002 from a shared love of all things punk & ska, 3 Minute Warning boast a 4 piece line up of Billy (guitar & vocals), Harold (drums), Matt (bass) & Chuzz (keys & vocals). Soon after their formation they quickly established themselves throughout Mid Wales with their blistering live shows. Influenced by a range of bands from The Specials, Madness through to The Clash, Rancid and The Bouncing Souls, 3 Minute Warning's sound is centred on storming streetpunk ska with great shoutalong choruses & catchy keyboard melodies. After self releasing a debut CD EP, titled "Eating Ain't Cheating", the band then had their track "Faithless" included on a punk compilation released by Complete Control Music in 2004.
After playing numerous shows with Smoke Like A Fish & Catch It Kebabs, the band caught the ear of Do The Dog Music & signed to the label in late 2005. 3 Minute Warning's debut full length album, titled "Tramps Jackpot", was released in April 2006. The CD picked up excellent reviews from the International ska and punk press and lots of radio airplay, including several spins on Radio 1's flagship punk rock show, The Lock Up.
Since the release of "Tramps Jackpot" 3 Minute Warning have gigged extensively all across the UK & also further afield in Europe.
