Wandering Thoughtstream

I'm Free!

Those were the words that tumbled out of my mouth today when someone asked how I was doing. I couldn't help laughing after that-and throughout my entire explanation of why "free" was exactly how I was feeling. Needless to say, that was a very, um, interesting conversation. Why am I free? School's out of course...

The title pretty much explains my attitude towards the wide expanse of summer before me. It is weeks and months of glorious time, empty in a sense, for use. There are memories to be made, outfits to be worn, dozens of silly pictures and stories to be created and of course, cake. I'm seeing all the wonderful things I want to do, can do and probably will eventually do. The treat I am most looking forward to, has nothing to do with writing or other productive things. I just want to sleep.

^_^ For the past few months, the main wish has been for more sleep and more time to sleep. Now with finals over and done with, I have a chance to relax-possibly and enjoy the most favorite, yet elusive past time of all. Simply doing nothing. Do you know how hard it is to do that?

I finally figured it out one day when I was watching a Winne The Pooh movie, where Pooh and Christopher Robin were just talking and hanging out and Pooh wanted to know what they were going to do. CR simply laughed and said. "Nothing of course. That's the best part Pooh, you see when grown-ups ask you what you're going to do. You can say, nothing. And then you just go out and do it." As he's talking, CR and Pooh walk up to the great big tree on the hill and sit down, side by side, before CR adds one little note. "Of course you can't do it to often, then it isn't special anymore."

That particular thought has stuck in my head for awhile. I guess maybe it's just my own interpretation of it. Thinking, still...wishing. I think today, I'm going to do...Nothing.

Hey everyone!

I figured I'd best title this entry as a holiday post, since I am currently too busy (still!) to know when I'll get the chance to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I hope your year has been filled with wonderful things in addition to the challenges that has helped to shape us throughout this time.

With a tiny bit of free time on my hands, as far as updating will go, I have added new short stories (former Faithwriter Challenge Entries) and there is a new current featured story, courtesy of Friday Fiction. While I did finish the 2008 NaNoWriMo, the story, titled "Tears of Muse" is still in the halfway stage, as in, I still have half a story to write. My original goal was aiming to at least complete the manuscript by Christmas, but it appears there will be more things for me to do than I thought.

Hey everyone!

No, I have not disappeared off the face of the earth, contrary to popular belief, I have been instead, running around every square inch available. Not that, it would make much sense when said that way, but alas, I am here and popping in for a moment to let ya'll know what's going on.

Things are busy. Life is busy. What else is new?

NaNo 08 is coming right up and there's plenty going on at the new site already. Be forewarned that the forums are fabulously addicting! You can find me on there as "Scarletfury" and to be sure you have the right scarlet fury, the current, tentative title is "Mind over Memory". Feel free to email me, I love hearing from everyone-it makes my day!

Fiction fridays are still on, but mostly they are random entries on my other blog, www.fictionfusion.blogspot.com

You'll find the latest thrown together there. Oh and I shall be adding more pages soon. Keep an eye out! Wishing you a good holiday season-if I don't get back here before Christmas! ^_^
