Max Trained with gentle, steady care
This video was taken 6 days after I first put a halter on Max. Take a look to see see how far he came along in only 6 days. He is clearly very trusting of us, retaining his innocence and sweet nature throughout the training process. Background: Max started training in late November 2007 under Tom Patrick and Carole-Terese. Max had a very bad first leading experience when the slaughter dealer transported the horses to the collecting pens. They haltered and then tried to lead Max - a horse who had never been trained to lead - onto the trailer. He broke loose and ran through the fields for 2 hours in fear. It was a long, frightening experience that we have worked hard to erase. Since, we have been careful to gain his trust in all aspects regarding halters and leading, and are thrilled with his progress.
