Answer : 4 Boys and 3 Girls. |

__Boys ____Girls__

2 1 Conditions are not satisfied.

4 3 Condition are satisfied.

Why we tried with small numbers ? Can you explain :

According to the puzzle

No of boys = Half the number of girls + one

When B = 6 G = (6/2) +1 = 4 ; 6 & 4 are not consecutive numbers.

Let us try with one more number.

When B = 8 ; G = (8 / 2) + 1 = 5 ; 8 & 5 are not consecutive numbers.

By mere observation we can see that when the number of boys are more, the difference between the boys and girls are also in increasing order.**So it is possible only with small numbers.**
