Biography.

Many people have amazing families and friends to be thankful for, others have no true friends but a really amazing and caring family, very few have the best friends anyone could ever have yet their families are highly disappointing, and don’t care about them at all, about what they like or dislike, families which don’t care about that person’s happiness, don’t except that man for what he is, and want him to be someone he is not, Sirius Black is one of those very few unfortunate people. He grew up in a place where every single person was obsessed over something he, himself, hardly cared about. Every thing he did was objected upon by every one around him. He was reminded that his younger brother was a much better son then him in every single step of his life. I hope that every one who reads this has read ‘Harry Potter’ and is familiar with the terms that I’m going to use from here onwards, so if you haven’t read it please do.
Sirius belonged to a family of ‘pure bloods’ as they called themselves. They were obsessed with being pure bloods. They disowned every member of there family who had anything at all to do with muggles or muggle borns. They all belonged to Slytherin, the house for pure blood lovers, during their time at Hogwarts, the Wizarding School. Sirius on the other hand belonged to Gryffindor, the house for brave wizards and witches. In his family he had only one person whom he could relate with, and that was Andromeda Black, his cousin.
Sirius was glad to leave his house at the age of eleven, when he went to Hogwarts, and still he had to return to his house every year during the summer holidays, so no one can say that he was completely set free. But at going to Hogwarts, his life did change, a lot. As he met the person, he later cared about and loved the most. And for those who don’t know what I am talking about, no, it wasn’t the girl of his dreams, it was the best friend he ever had; James Potter. He and James were like two pods in a pea. They loved each other more then a they would love a brother. They were both brilliant students, loved to break the rules (and I do mean rules and not the law!) and go around doing every kind of mischief. When they found out that another of their friends; Remus Lupin, was a werewolf, they didn’t freak out like any other boy would have done. But they figured out a way they could make it fun for Lupin. Along with another friend, Peter, who didn’t turn out to be real friend after all, they became Animagi, i.e. that they could turn into an animal. Sirius would turn into a dog, and as a dog has pad feet, Sirius’ was nick names as ‘Padfoot’ by his friends. James turned into a stag which is other wise known as ‘Prongs’ which later became James’ nick name. Peter’s nick name was ‘Wormtail’ as he turned in to a rat, and rats have worm shaped tails. Lupin was nick named ‘Moony’ as he turned into a werewolf at the appearing of a full moon. In this way every month when Lupin turned into a werewolf, James and Sirius would get him out of the shrieking shack and together they would all explore the grounds of Hogwarts. They never realized how dangerous it was, not just for the danger of Lupin accidentally biting a child and making him a werewolf, but there were much greater consequences which Sirius alone had to face in the end. But in spite of this unfortunate fact, those were some of the best years of Sirius’ life. Their nighttime endeavors resulted so well that they knew more about Hogwarts then anyone except the creators of the school. And using their knowledge about the school, Sirius, James, Lupin and Peter created a map which was named; ‘The Marauders’ Map’ by them. And these four will be referred to as the Marauders from here onwards, just to save time.
In his sixth year, Sirius finally was able to leave his parents’ house, and shifted to James’ place. He camped outside the house during the summers, and stayed at Hogwarts all year long. By the time Sirius was through Hogwarts, one of his uncles died, leaving behind a large sum of money just for Sirius, so that he bought his own house and began his career, which I am sad to say I am not aware off, as Jo has not yet revealed it to her desperately waiting fans. He was James’ best man on his wedding to Lily. The Marauders had also joined the ‘Order of Phoenix’ a society, founded by the most powerful wizard ever, i.e. Dumbledore. It was for those few and brave wizards who were willing to fight against Lord Voldemort, the darkest wizard of all times. Lily and James were then blessed with a son, who was to be a great wizard in near future (lol, I’m starting to talk like Professor Trelawney) who they named; Harry Potter. Not long after Harry’s birth, the Potters came to know that Lord Voldemort was going to kill their son, through some anonymous source which, too, I am not aware of.
They were forced into hiding by the fear of losing their son. They put a charm (The Fidelius Charm) over themselves that would make them invisible to every one, except one wizard, who was called their secret keeper. And only that secret keeper could reveal the whereabouts of the Potters. Dumbledore himself offered to be the secret keeper. But James turned down this offer by saying the person he trusted most was Sirius, Lily backed him up at this. Because James knew that Sirius would die before he betrayed James. Sirius, of course, accepted. But at the very last minute, Sirius, himself, did something that he regretted every time he inhaled and every time he exhaled, for the rest of his tragic life. He convinced the Potters to change their secret keeper. He asked them to make Peter (that filthy, loathsome, betraying, crack pot. And let me tell you that I am trying very hard to keep my feelings out of my words so as not to use foul language) their secret keeper, so that when Voldemort would interrogate Sirius, he wouldn’t know that he wasn’t the secret keeper, and Peter would be safe as Sirius would die before he breathed a single word about Peter being the secret keeper for the Potters instead of him. But little did he know that Peter was working secretly for Voldemort. That after less then seven days he was going to go to Voldemort and tell him where the Potters were. So that when Sirius went to check whether Peter was okay one day in his hiding place, he found that Peter was gone, he hurried to James and Lily’s house, which he found in a tragic state, by which he instantly knew that Peter had given them away. But after killing Lily and James, Voldemort had met his downfall in the one year old boy, Harry Potter, at that also when he was at the verge of extreme control over the entire World.
When Sirius met Peter, Peter very cleverly made it look like Sirius was the one who betrayed the Potters and not him, as not a single soul apart from Sirius, James, Lily and Peter knew that the Potters had changed there secret keeper from Sirius to Peter. Peter faked his own death by make a loud noise and then turning into a rat and running away, and before that killing a whole street of 13 people with one spell from behind his back so it looked as if Sirius killed them all. Sirius was then arrested and without a trial thrown into Azkaban, ruthlessly. So even if James and Lily, suffered death, and Harry lost his parents, but Sirius was the one who really suffered the consequences for that one mistake of teaching Peter how to become Animagi in their 5th year, because had it not been for that Peter could never have faked his death and let Sirius rot in Azkaban for 12 years. For twelve years, Sirius was hated by every single witch and wizard as being Lord Voldemort’s right hand man, falsely accused of 13 murders, including the one murder of Peter which he craved to commit, being known as a mad mass murderer. But the thing that hurt him most was the fact that every one who knew about the Fidelius Charm assumed him as the person who betrayed James and Lily. And no one interrogated him as for anything. No one stopped to consider him human enough to talk to and listen to. No one thought of asking him for an explanation. For letting him at least try to get the word ‘murderer’ that as tattooed on his forehead by the Ministry of Magic, off, to clear any misunderstanding, to at least say a few words in his defense.
But Sirius didn’t go crazy in Azkaban, as every one else, because of the dementors guarding it. In spite of the fact that his cell was one of the most heavily guarded ones in Azkaban. Because the dementors could only take away happiness, what they couldn’t take away was the knowledge of Sirius knowing that he was innocent. And this kept Sirius sane.
And after twelve years in that hell, Sirius ran away, for the first time in the history of wizardry a wizard had escaped from the hands of Azkaban. And that was for Harry. Whose, Sirius was named as god father at his birth, by Lily and James. Because Sirius saw an article in Azkaban in which Ron, Harry’s best friend, had scabbers, his rat, on his shoulder. But little did Ron or anyone in the Weasleys’ family members know that that was the wizard who was to blame for Harry, being an orphan. What confirmed this for Sirius was that this rat had one toe from his front paw missing, and as Peter had cut of a finger before faking his death, Sirius was convinced that this was Peter. And he knew, that Peter was waiting for Voldemort to be back in power, so that would be when he would kill Harry and take him to Voldemort. But Sirius wasn’t going to let that happen. He was going to commit at least one of the murders he was accused of, the one murder he wanted to commit. He was going to kill Peter.
So Sirius escaped from Azkaban, as a dog. He went to Hogwarts. And that’s when he met his god son face to face for the first time in his entire life. At that time Harry knew the false side of the story which said that Sirius betrayed his parents. He wanted to kill Sirius more then anything he had ever wanted in his entire life. But, Lupin came to the rescue. Together, Sirius and Lupin, explained to Harry every thing. Harry finally believed them. Scabbers was taken from Ron and turned into his real self. But when Sirius and Lupin were about to kill him, Harry stopped them. Not because he thought any good for Peter, but because he was sure that his father would never have wanted his two best friends to become murderers for a creature as foul as Wormtail.
But as they were making their way to the castles, through the grounds, the full moon came out, Lupin instantly transformed into a werewolf, Sirius transformed as well to take care of Lupin. Peter took the chance well and transformed and escaped again. Ron fainted because of the curse Peter cast on him. Hermione also fainted due to the dementors’ power while Harry was about to feint when he saw a figure coming from somewhere and driving all the dementors away. Sirius was to be kissed by a dementor but through Dumbledore’s help, Harry and Hermione saved Sirius and he went into hiding as no one believed a word of Sirius’ story except the Harry, Ron, Hermione, Lupin and Dumbledore.
Sirius stayed in hiding for two years during which he had to stay without food for many days, and also lived on rats, and without any company except for a voiceless creature, Buckbeak.
After that, Voldemort returned, through the help of, whom else, Peter of course. And the Order of Phoenix was re launched, and the Head Quarters were set at a place where Sirius had to stay 24 hours a day; the place that he loathed, the place he had never wanted to see again, the place that he had run away from in his sixth year; Grimmauld Place Number 12, the house of his parents. He wasn’t allowed to take part in the fights with the deatheaters, to be right in the middle of all the action. But he had to stay, trapped in the four walls of his parents’ house, which he was the heir to, and which he never ever called his own.
And when he found out that he was the bait to getting Harry to the Department of Mysteries, so that he could give Voldemort his beloved prophecy, and Voldemort could finally finish what he had started 16 years ago, he simply had to go to the Department of Mysteries and save the only person left on the earth as a remembrance to his beloved friend, James. And there, right in the middle of the battle, he died, while fighting another of his family members, Bellatrix Lestrange. So there ended Sirius Black’s life, the life where he didn’t get anything his way except for a few years. A life filled with tragedies, a life that gave him nothing except for a true friend who was also taken away from him, snatched from his very firm grip, a life that gave him so many false accusations, a life where nothing was fair to him. And he died when he had had enough of all the games life had played with him. He was off to see his beloved friend and be happy, very happy and content, with what he had in the seven heavens…
