Yangon – Mandalay – Bagan – Yangon (10Days/ 9Nights) BACKPACKER SAVING

 

Day 01 : Yangon - Mandalay (By Bus)

In the evening today, we will come and pick you up to transfer to bus station. 

Take the bus to Mandalay (15hours drive, 683km). En route, the bus will stop at a

restaurant so that you can have time for smoke,coffe brake or dinner. Overnight 

on the bus.

 

Day 02 : Mandalay– Visit yourself.

After breakfast, you can start sightseeing in Mandalay and its surrounding.

Mandalay was the last Burmese Kingdom until 1885. You can visit Mahagandayone

Monastery, home to some 800 monks and one of the most prestigious 

monasteries in Myanmar. Afterward, you will take a stroll over a historic bridge,

known as U Bein Bridge and originally built in 1851, spanning over the 

Taungthaman Lake in Amarapura. And in Mandalay, you can visit Shwe Nan Daw 

Kyaung (or Golden Palace Monastery) to marvel at a superb traditional wooden 

building and Kuthodaw Pagoda (also known as the world’s largest book), 

consisting of 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures and enjoy the 

sunset from Mandalay Hill in Mandalay. Overnight in Mandalay. HOTEL : SABEI BYU.

 

Day 03 : Mandalay – Visit yourself.

This morning after breakfast, you can take a boat trip on the Ayeyarwaddy River 

to Mingun, situated about 11 km (one hour each way) upstream from Mandalay. 

Visit the unfinished Mingun Temple , originally built with the intention of being 

the world's biggest pagoda, the Mingun Bell, weighing 87 tons and being the 

world's largest intact bronze bell, the elegant Hsinbyume Pagoda, and 

Myatheindan Pagoda with its ornate 7 circular terraces. Return to Mandalay for a

 lunch at a local restaurant. In the evening, a visit to Mahamuni Pagoda, 

Mandalay's most fabled religious monument where you will have an awe inspiring

 view of a Buddha image covered with chunky layers of gold foils, and visit to a 

gold leaf making factory and observe how to make hand-made gold leaves and 

the Royal Palace. Overnight in Mandalay. HOTEL : SABEI BYU.

 

Day 04 : Mandalay – Visit yourself.

Excursion to the former royal capital of Inwa (Ava), reached by a short boat trip. 

Visits by ponny-trap to Nanmyint Watch Tower, the remains of the palace 

building nicknamed ‘Leaning Tower of Ava’, Maha Aungmyae Bonzan Monastery,

built of brick and stucco and Bagayar monastery, famous for its impressive ornate

 woodcarvings and teak posts. Continue to Sagaing Hills, a retreat for Buddhist

 devotees, for sunset. Overnight in Mandalay. HOTEL : SABEI BYU.

 

Day 05 : Mandalay – Bagan - by Local Bus.

After breakfast, transfer to bus stop to catch the bus to Bagan (294 Km, 7 hours

drive). Arrive Bagan in late evening. Overnight in Bagan. HOTEL : KYAW or NEW PARK.

 

Day 06 : Bagan - Visit

After breakfast, you can viist Bagan by bicycle, horsecart, and coach. 

Recommended sites are Nyaung U market, Shwezigon Pagoda, the prototype of

pagodas in Myanmar, Wetkyi-in Gu Byauk Gyi Temple with fine tempera mural

paintings depicting the life stories of Buddha, and Ananda Temple, the most

aesthetically beautiful monument in Bagan. Luch at a local restaurant. In the

afternoon, visit a lacquer craftsman’s workshop to discover the intricate process 

of making lacquer wares. Continue to Manuha Temple with a large seated Buddha

Image, enshrined in a relatively small sanctum, illustrating the melancholy of a

confined king, and Nanbaya Temple with noted perforated windows and friezes, 

a unique sandstone monument that is said to have been the residence of King

Manuha. Next, to Myingaba Gu Byauk Gyi Temple, a Mon-style temple renowned 

for its fine frescoes, preserved by UNESCO. A visit to Shwesandaw pagoda, a 

perfect spot to enjoy a magnificent sunset, will conclude the day. Enjoy a dinner 

at a local restaurant and overnight in Bagan. HOTEL : KYAW or NEW PARK.

 

Day 07 : Bagan - Visit

After breakfast, morning visit to the Minnanthu village area. Observe the ways of 

life of people in Minanthu. Seinnyet Pagodas, Apeyadana Temple, Myazedi 

Pagoda, known for the stone inscriptions in four languages​​. Bupaya in 

Ayeyarwaddy river bank, a perfect place to enjoy a magnificent sunset, will 

conclude the day. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and overnight in Bagan

HOTEL : KYAW or NEW PARK.

 

Day 08 : Bagan - Visit

This morning after breakfast, take a scenic route (50 km - 1 ½ hours) to Mount 

Popa, an extinct volcano and an oasis in the Myingya plains. It is among the local 

people, known as the home of the "Nats" spirits. For sports enthusiasts, there is time to

climb the 777 steps to the top of the volcanic plug. Enjoy lunch at the Popa Mountain Resort,

 with magnificent views across the ravine and mature trees. Return to Bagan. The afternoon

is free to pursue their individual interests or you can go visit to a village called "Min Nan

Thu", and a pagoda for the sunset. Enjoy dinner and overnight in Bagan. HOTEL : KYAW

 or NEW PARK.

 

Day 09 : Bagan – Yangon (by Bus).

After visit around or relax in Bagan today, the car will come and pick you up from

 your hotel to bus stop. Overnight on the bus.

 

 Day 10 : Yangon Arrive

This early morning, you arrive back Yangon, transfer to your hotel. Arrive in 

Yangon.
