Sing Out!

The songbook contest winner was announced and a new contest is already begun.   Enter at celticwoman.com to be one of five winners of a set of signed Christmas CD and DVD.

The CW site has also undergone a Christmas change as are we.  Time to get into that Christmas spirit!

Spring 2008's dates have been announced and can be seen at celticwoman.com as well. They are the final dates, it has been said that none will be added due to Celtic Woman's engagement "outside of the US" in the summer.  *ooohs and ahhhs*

The tour in Japan is now over.  Hopefully the girls are having lots of fun back home already.

Meav's tour of NY and NH starts next week, as does Deirdre's Canada tour.  More Deirdre dates are being announced for her "If You're Irish" tour next year with more to come.

Last but not least it has been confirmed Hayley is definitely not going to be Lisa's replacement in the spring.  That lucky person has yet to be announced.  However, Hayley will be working on a new album next year.

Anne Murray will be coming out with a new CD featuring songs of her singing duets with other musical artists.  Celtic Woman is one of those artists.  You can hear their song together here.  http://annemurrayduets.com/  Track 6 - Song for the Mira.

I just read on the Celtic Woman Forum that they will be filming a new DVD next summer.  What content lies within? No one yet knows.

I just read that Lisa hopes to rejoin us on "some stage of the Spring 2008 tour."  Perhaps she will come in later, then. 

Also, she says she hopes to work on her NEW CD!!!! while she is relaxing.  Can't wait to hear more news about that!

We were recently told the exciting news -- Lisa and Scott are expecting their third child due in March!  Congratulations to you both!  Our blessings go with you!

This means...new dresses for Lisa, however she will be absent from the Spring 2008 tour but will be back for the Fall 2008 tour.

The CW site has been *drastically* updated with new pages, galleries, video diaries of Lynn's journey, a member's area, bios including all 7 girls (Deirdre is not listed) and more.

The first concert of the Fall 2007 tour in the US by the CW girls was today in Estero Florida.  This was also Lynn's debut performance with the gang but it was reported that she did a fine job besides a few nerves, quite understandable.

Yesterday we Celtic Woman fans were greeted by the devastating news that our favorite Meav has chosen to leave Celtic Woman to pursue in full her solo career. 

"After long consideration I have decided to take a full-time break from touring with Celtic Woman to focus on my solo career. I understand the disappointment this may cause my fans and I promise to see you again soon in my own live show . . . You will see me at Christmas in the Celtic Woman special to be broadcast on PBS and around the world. You will also hear me next year when I release my new solo album which is a dream I need to follow. I hope you will follow the dream with me."

The UK tour *will* be starting September 22nd, sans Hayley.

Today and tomorrow the five girls (Orlagh, Meav, Lisa, Chloe, and Mairead) will be shooting their Christmas DVD.  I've heard there are extra songs and they will be coming out with a CD with those on it too.

The European tour will begin on September 22nd in Manchester, UK.  Tickets are on sale now for all venues.

Also, heads up - the Christmas DVD will be filmed in Dublin July 17th and 18th and released along with the CD in October.

I emailed Celtic Woman Ltd. regarding solo albums and the upcoming book.  They called it a "music book" and said that the finalised contents of it would be posted at a later date.  It was also reported that the girls intend to work on solo albums but due to their busy schedule nothing is confirmed.

Last but not least, I was informed that they will indeed be back for another tour in 2008.  Whether Hayley is there or not is anyone's guess at this point.

Sharon Browne, a creator and producer of Celtic Woman, has left CW to start on her new project - Celtic Man, a stage and television show almost identical to Celtic Woman.  She has teamed up with Phil Coulter.

For the 50th anniversary celebration of West Side Story, Hayley is participating in a new recording as Maria with Vittorio Grigolo as Tony.  The album will be released July 30.  July 28, Hayley  and Vittorio will be singing selections from the musical on Woburn Live.  www.woburnlive.com

Today, June 5th, 2007, the new version of Chloe's DVD "Walking in the Air" will be released in North America.  It has the official Celtic Woman stamp on it!
