Lexie adopted form the RGT back in September 2007
Lexie came to us on 8 Sept, we left the RGT armed withn Jan fennell's DVD and what we thought was everything we needed to know. After being in kennels for only a week, being neutured and moving into our home there was a lot of changes and having gastric and a night at the vets a week later didn't help.Oou dog was having a problem settling in and being destructive and after couple of weeks it suddenly changed and got worse. Desperate for help I rang the rescue as I felt a complete failure and felt like I was out my depth in trying to create a relaxing trouble free life for this lovely dog.
When Anne arranged to visit our home i was counting the hours, literally, till she came. Having her come into our house was brilliant, she was able to see the set up of our home, the plans for where lexie would stay when we went out and answer various other questions. Although we had watched the DVD there is so much to take in and few things i was not entirely clear of and when Anne came along confident she could help sort it all out I breathed a hughe sigh of relief. What is more important, I learned I had a back up service of email or telephone and this was very important to me and poor Anne has been bombarded with emails on a regular basis.
Lexie put us to the test big time and I found the best way of coping is by thinking "what is her question" and when I looked at it in that way of her saying "are you up to the job of leader" or "whose in charge here" and "give me attenton on my terms" etc and this kind of thinking really helps me a lot.
I won't say its easy and an overnight solution, but once we know and get to grips with things it gets easier.
Misty and Oban 2007
Misty (11) and Oban (8) are my two rescue dogs. When I split from my partner and moved into a new house, I completely underestimated how this would affect them. But the worst thing was that I could not leave the house without them barking and crying. I knew that I needed help and thankfully found the information on Amichien Bonding. Anne was mine and Misty and Oban’s saviour! I had previously been advised that there was no hope for my dogs because they were too old to rehabilitate. The skills Anne showed me are simple but extremely effective.
The test came on the Monday when I left for work. I left (with a tape recorder running) When I got back at lunchtime I could not believe it. They had been quiet! It sounds crazy but over two days, they had been transformed form howling, barking dogs into quiet, asleep dogs whilst I was out. I realise that Amichien Bonding is making Misty and Oban happier dogs and it is something I have to practise every day with them. Anne, I can’t thank you enough for helping me and supporting me and Misty and Oban, I feel very blessed that we found you!
