The FastTrack system can handle the scoring of bridge events both in "automated" and "manual" modes. For automated operation terminals are required. In manual mode, terminals are not required and the Director can register players and capture the details from the travelling scoresheets via the user interface. In both cases, the processing of the data and the presentation of the resulting information are identical.

The recommended approach is to make use of the free trial period to evaluate the system using the manual mode of operation (for which terminals are not required). Thereafter, system usage can be extended for as long as required on the basis of a small usage based fee. The terminals required for automated operation can be acquired at any convenient time. The only cost of converting to the automated mode of operation will be the cost of the terminals.

Windows

The software was developed and tested using Microsoft Windows-XP. It may also run under Windows 2000 but this is not guaranteed. It is unlikely that it will run under older versions of Windows. Software for other platforms is unfortunately not available.

Access

The user interface was developed using Microsoft Access. Users with Office XP (including Access) already installed on their PCs only need to install a small number of Access databases. Users that do not have Access installed on their PCs will be provided with a copy of the Access Run-time facility. Both options are legal and do not involve additional cost.
