Legacy and Prosperity Challenges

This week in Area 62 we are taking the time to stop by and check on Ripp Grunt and his girlfriend Virginia Mellon after they have graduated from college.  Ripp is going to take us through all that has happened for them.

Mellon/Grunt Family - Chapter 1

Hey, Ripp Grunt here.  After I managed to escape the oppressive boot of my father and head to college (much to his dismay) I vowed I would never return to his home.  I wanted nothing to do with my father anymore.  He had made my life a living hell for too long.  So I set off for La Fiesta Tech.  By some freak error they put me in the same dorm as my brother Tank.  So Tank was in the dorm with the two people he hated most in the world, me and Johnny Smith.  Let me just say that Tank tried to fight us daily.  I managed to get by and graduated cum laude with a degree in philosophy.  During college I fell in love with Virginia.  I had always liked her in high school but Tank had shown some interest so I backed off.  Well, in college all our feelings came out and Virginia and I said to hell with Tank and we hooked up.  I decided to give up my romantic endeavors but couldn't see my life taking too much of a different spin so I took to pleasure and I dream of taking Virginia on fifty of the most romantic dates you've ever seen!  Virginia started off being heavy into romance too but also changed her ways when we decided to be just the two of us.  She devoted herself intensely on her studies and now wants to become chief of staff of Bluewater Hope General.  She also graduated cum laude but with a degree in biology.

After graduation Virginia and I bought a house on Tesla Court.  It wasn't quite what we wanted but it was cheap since it was down the road from crazy Loki Beaker.  Virginia had heard stories of Loki but I reassured her we would be fine.  The house is nice even if the location isn't the greatest.

Things have been going really well for Virginia and I.  I'm working as a souvenir whittler right now making little wood sculptures for Space Park (the amusement park outside of town).  It is kind of lame but I have fun and I get free admission to the park.  Virginia is in medical school working as an intern right now so she is well on her way to reaching her dream.  We have dates almost every night in some way, shape or form.  I love being in love with her!

One day after Virginia got home from work she didn't say anything to me but just rushed into the bathroom and started puking her guts out!

I was a little concerned.  I was afraid something was really wrong with her.  But she didn't seem worried so I tried not to be but its hard when you see the woman you love so sick.  But I soon found out why she wasn't worried.  It turns out Virginia is pregnant!  She is starting to show now and I just love it!

I'm so excited!  I'm going to be a daddy!  This is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me!  I'm going to be a much better father to this child then my father ever was to me.  I love rubbing Virginia's belly and talking to the little baby growing inside her.   Have I mentioned how happy I am?

And since I love Virginia so much and I don't want this baby to ever have to worry about it's daddy running off I proposed to Virginia in our living room.

She didn't expect that from me but was so excited.  She said yes of course!

Virginia wants to wait until after the baby is born to get married though.  She says she doesn't want to walk down the aisle looking like a house.  I said that was okay and I told her I wanted the baby to have her last name anyway.  I hate mine and will give it up for her in a heartbeat.

I decided that since I'm going to be a father soon I should clean myself up a bit.  I have to look the part right?  So, I got myself a haircut and some new clothes and I think I look much more ready to be a father now than before.  What do you think?

You do look better Ripp.

Thank you.

We are happy for you that you are expecting a little one.  That is great news.  Are you going to tell your father?

Do you think he would care?  I don't.  I doubt I'll tell him.  He's too obsessed with Tank getting married.

Tank's not married though.

I know, and I think its great!  HA!

Okay Ripp, well good luck with fatherhood.  Tell Virginia we wish her a smooth delivery.

Well folks, that is all we have this week.  Please tune in again next week as we continue to take a glimpse into the lives of the residents of Area 62.
