Welcome back to another visit to the citizens of Area 62. This week we will pop in and visit the home of Loki Beaker and his son Mitchell. Last time we saw Loki and Mitchell, Loki was not giving his son much attention and Loki was involved in a custody battle with his ex-wife and Mitchell's mother, Circe. Loki won custody and has been able to fill Mitchell's mind with all sorts of lies about his mother. Mitchell, now a teenager, will now fill us in on how life has been for him with his father.
Beaker Family - Chapter 3
Hi. Mitchell here. Well, I'm not a kid any longer but I'll get to that in a minute. Lots of strange and unusual things have happened around here. But I've come to realize now that strange and unusual things are not all that strange and unusual when it comes to my dad. I mean how many other kids have fathers who are having love affairs with a vampire? That's right. My father has been involved in this heated affair with an alien-vampire, Chloe Curious. They might even have a son together but Chloe claims to not know who her son Davin's father is. I'm really not sure how I feel about this whole thing but I did get to walk in on my dad and Chloe in their flirtations...lucky me.
Apparently, Chloe decided that my dad needed to join her in her world of the un-dead. I was helpless and could only watch as she put him into some kind of trance with this purple glittery powder.
And then as she bit his neck.
Watching my dad turn into a vampire was probably one of the more horrific moments of my life. It was awful watching him twitch and squirm as he became "undead."
Chloe seemed rather pleased with herself but I didn't like the way my dad looked. I was still a kid when all this happened and my father was now all of a sudden downright scary to me.
So now my father cannot go out during the daylight hours and he sleeps in a coffin in our basement. When I asked him why there was already a room in the basement he told me not to ask questions but to just do my homework like a good boy. I guess my dad was ready with a room in the basement in case he became a vampire.
Of course, all this happened right before I was to start high school. That was not the way I wanted to go into high school. I mean high school is hard enough when you are normal, let alone when you have a vampire father! But on my first day I would find out that also in my school were two guys who were twice orphaned, Anthony and Avri Kim, and an alien girl, Radient Curious. So I suppose my vampire father was not so strange. But here is a picture of me on my birthday:

Since I now had little more control over my life I called up the local gypsy right away. I had heard that she had a potion that cured vampirism. I was a little nervous because my dad seemed to be eyeing my neck like he wanted to take a bit out of it and I have no desire to be a vampire. So I picked up this potion that should help me if my father ever decides he wants me to also become a creature of the night.
Now that I'm older and my dad is a vampire he doesn't spend much time with me anymore. I'm usually ready for bed by the time night falls and my dad is getting up and by the time I wake up its almost daylight and my dad has to sleep. He refuses to give me any money for anything so I decided to open my own business. I stole some money from my dad during the day and opened Beaker Boutique. I sell clothes right now but I hope to expand.
Business is going pretty well. It wasn't long before I had my very first sale. Although, I'm still a bit slow with the cash register.
On my very first week in business a reporter from the Area 62 Beat came by. He must have liked what he saw because I soon saw a feature on my business in the paper!
After the review business was booming. I always had more people in my store than I could ever help! It was great!
But you can imagine my surprise when after the review came out my mom walked into my store. Now, I haven't seen much of my mother. My dad said she ran out on us and that she didn't love me anymore. I had to go visit her at her new house and with her new family once but I was so mad at her for leaving my dad and I that I wouldn't speak to her. Plus she had two other kids so I thought she had replaced me. I was too shocked for words when she walked into my store and actually hugged me.

I was too dumbfounded to know how to respond. At first she just looked at me with tears in her eyes then she told me she had read about my store in the paper and was so proud of me that she wanted to come by and see for herself what I had been up to. She asked me how my father was and I told her how he was now a vampire. She seemed sad by this. Then I couldn't hold it in any longer. I started to rage at her about leaving me. Here I was, a teenager, and she had never had much of a part of my life. I couldn't believe it when she started to cry. She told me that I had every right to be angry with her but that I had to know that she and Nervous had done everything they could to get me away from my father but my father was too pursausive with the judge and he wouldn't give them custody. I asked her why she thought I would ever want to come and live with her. I was shocked when she went on to tell me of the cruelty of my father. What he had done to her and what he had done to her now husband, Nervous. She said she worried about me constantly and hated not being a part of my life. She told me I was always welcome at her home and that I could come and live with her whenever I wanted it. I didn't know how to respond to any of this. My whole life my father had told me she hated me and here I find out she had loved me all that time and it was my father who had kept me from her. I told her that even thought Loki was as mean as he was he was still my father and he had no one else so I couldn't leave him. It was clear to me she was hurt but she let me go. I mean, what other choice did she have?
When I got home I told my dad that I had ran into Mom. I told her what she told me and he proceeded to tell me that she had lied to me. I hadn't talked to my father like this in ages. He told me that my mother was the one to blame for not being there. She was the one who had the affair with Nervous. She was the one who divorced him. It was her fault. I didn't know who to believe.

My father had always been obsessed with watching the stars. He told me he hoped to meet real live aliens someday. I told him I knew one, she was in a couple of my classes at school. Then I told him he knew one too. Did he forget about Chloe? I mean she may have been a vampire too but she was also an alien. But my dad told me that Chloe and Radient were half-aliens. They had human fathers. I thought this was strange but my dad said he knew what he was talking about. So we started watching the stars together. Turns out that the aliens did want to meet a vampire. They wanted to meet a real life human so they took me instead of my dad.

I have to admit that I was pretty freaked out at first but they were nice to me. One of them asked me if I knew any half-aliens and I told him that I knew three. I told him about Chloe who was a vampire now and had made my dad one. The alien talking just nodded and said, "Ah, number 9's daughter." I didn't know what that meant but I told him about Radient and about how my mom's new husband had an alien daughter too. The alien got kind of sentimental and told me they were his spawn. I couldn't believe it. They poked me a little bit but the alien doing most of the talking said that I was too young to implant and they had once again grabbed one too young for implantation. I wasn't sure what that meant but you better believe that I was pretty relieved. I don't know how long I was gone but they returned me none the worse for wear.

I came back to a rather unpleasant surprise. My dad was nowhere to be found but my mom was there and she was a vampire! She was a mess. She told me that she hadn't heard from me in a while so she came over to check on me and see how I was. She arrived just in time to see the aliens sweep me away. She said she started yelling at my father for being so careless and he just bit her.
She was so upset by it that she blacked out for a while. She said she thought she remembed some doctor, a Dr. Who, maybe. But when she came back to my father was gone.
She was crying and I couldn't help but feel for her. She said she didn't want to be a vampire, she had two children to raise. It was then that I remembered the potion I had bought from the gypsy lady. I told my mom I could help her. I ran to my room and got the potion out of my wardrobe. I raced back downstairs and placed it on the counter. I told my mom to drink it, that it would make her normal again. She looked at me with some doubt at first but then I guess she realized that she had nothing to loose so she took the bottle and downed the potion in one gulp.
It shook her violently and she cried out in pain. She looked at me with terror in her eyes. I was afraid that the potion had not been a potion after all but a posion! I could tell by her pained look that she thought the same.
Horrified by that my mother's final thought would be that her son had poisoned her I covered my eyes. Soon everything was silent and when I looked again my mother in her true and natural form was standing before me. It was then that I realized this was my mother and she had always loved me but my father was the one who had kept us apart. She said nothing but, "It's late, I should get home." But I knew that she knew I had forgiven her.
Oh Mitchell, I'm so glad you finally know the truth about your mother.
Yeah, me too, but you could have told me you know!
No, I couldn't have. I am here only to observe, not to interfere.
::mumbles:: Yeah, tell that to Ajay Loner
What was that?
Nothing.
Um-hm. All right Mitchell, you take care.
Thanks for joining us yet again. Next week we will be stopping by the Curious household to see how the brothers and their aliens are doing. Please join us then!
