Cell's Wedding
Michelle had graduated from Sim State University. She had finally come to the point in her life where she would be marrying Cell Bacter. Ever since she had heard about the Bacter Family and it's wealth and, more recently, it's drama, she had longed to be a part of it. So when she discovered that Cell Bacter, the first born of the third generation of Bacters in Legacy Valley, was her age she did all she could to find out everything about him.
When she had taken the job as a clerk at Legacy Plaza, each day she went in she prayed that she would see Cell walk through those doors. Days passed and no Cell. Finally, it happened. Cell Bacter walked into the store and was browsing the clothes. She watched him as discretely as she could. She knew that if her plan was ever to work he was going to have to be the one to make the first move. So she watched and waited.
He brought his purchases up to the counter and smiled at her warmly but Michelle's heart sank when he did little more than that. But that wasn't the end of the story. Cell frequented Legacy Plaza quite often to see Michelle and gradually they became friends and the rest, as they say, is history.
It was back to this same store where Michelle had first seen Cell that she went to pick out the dress she would wear to her wedding. Michelle had been more than a little disappointed in Cell's meager beginnings. The family came from great wealth but apparently Cell hadn't seen any of that wealth. This was not what Michelle had bargained for but over the years she had fallen in love with Cell and figured he'd see the money as inheritance. Cell had however, given her all that he had to pick out a dress for their wedding.
Michelle tried on dress,
after dress,
after dress.
Until, finally she found the perfect one. The one that would make Cell Bacter love her forever.
As Michelle handed the young girl working the cash register the money for the gown, she couldn't help but remember all the time she had spent working in this very store hoping for a better life and now her dreams were finally going to come true. She read the girl's name tag: Kimberly.
"Kimberly, you know I used to work here when I was your age."
The young girl looked up at Michelle, "Really?"
"Sure did. And now I'm marrying a Bacter."
Michelle watched with pleasure as the girl's face filled with awe, "Really? A Bacter? I wish I could marry a Bacter some day."
"You can. Don't think this job defines you. You can have anything you want if you are willing to go for it. Even if that something is a Bacter."
Michelle could see the sparkle of a dream come into the young girl's eyes as she handed Michelle her change. Michelle gave her one last smile and left the girl to wonder.
"Nervous, son?" Bacillus asked his eldest as he smoothed Cell's lapel.
Cell considered this for a moment, "Actually, I'm not. Is that weird?"
Bacillus chuckled at his son's naiveté, "Of course not. I wasn't nervous when I married your mother. It is a good sign. It is a sign that you are making the right choice."
"You think so Dad?"
"Absolutely. Michelle is a fine girl. She will be a beautiful bride and a lovely wife. I am sure of it."
Cell smiled, "I am too."
Bacillus clapped his son on the shoulder with some fatherly affection and said, "Well son, your bride awaits. Let's get you married."
