Experiencing Life in the Dorms
Cyto left his home and set out for Sim State University very cocky. He had always been able to woo the ladies back home and had no doubts in his ability to do so once he got to college. When he arrived in front of Landgraab Dorms he couldn't help but feel a little bit humbled. When he had left home his father had paid the cabbie and told him where to go but would not tell Cyto. Cyto figured he'd head off to some cool pad on campus or even have gained directed membership in the Greek house that had been in his family for three generations now. So you can imagine his disappointment when he pulled up in front of the dorm. And it was even the same dorm his sisters, Gabriella and Chondria, lived in. He feared it would cramp his style but he tried not to let it get to him and he put on his best face and climbed out of the cab to face his new life.

Cyto's first order of business was to find his room. He was a little distraught to learn that the room he would be occupying had previously belonged to Gabriella's beau, Remington Fleig. He tried to ignore the coldness Gabriella expressed upon his arrival but it was hard. Not that he could blame her. He looked around the room and couldn't help but notice the yellow floral pattern of the bedspread. Was this really what Gabriella's boyfriend had slept in? Cyto scratched his head and tried to put the thoughts of what type of guy sleeps on flowers out of his head. He immediately pulled out the blue striped sheets his mother had packed for him and replaced the flowers with a more manly stripe.
After the bedding switch Cyto pulled open the door to his room and set off to explore the dorm. He met his dormmates that had arrived with his sisters. Trey Miguel who had taken a liking to his sister Chondria was very cordial to him. Trista, Trey's twin sister, was very flirtatous with Cyto and Cyto couldn't help being charmed by her. But she was immediately followed up by Ricky Cormier. Cyto was attracted to Trista and was a little distressed to learn that she was dating Ricky seeing as Ricky was a rather imposing figure. Nontheless Cyto would have to cast aside his attractions to Trista. He would soon meet Linda Garth and set out pouring his attention onto her. It wasn't long, in fact, before she agreed to a date. Cyto took her back to Legacy Valley and to the Plaza where they had dinner.

During dinner Cyto turned on the charm. He was doing things like caressing her hand as they ate and blowing her kisses from across the table. Linda seemed to give into Cyto's charm.
Linda told Cyto she'd had a wonderful time and that he had been her "dream date." Cyto politely agreed and kissed her goodnight deeply. But Cyto still couldn't get Trista out of his mind.
And how could he when Trista would join in with other girls at the dorm dancing the Smustle. There was no man on earth who would be able to resist that.

While Cyto was trying to overcome his emotions Chondria was trying to understand hers. She was in love with Trey. But she couldn't understand how that had happened. She had never really intended to settle down with one man. She saw how her mother had spent nearly her whole life having children and she had originally thought that there was no way she'd ever do the same. But now, as she looked at Trey, she couldn't help but think about a future with him. Every time she looked into those deep brown eyes she felt something stirring within her that she'd never quite experienced before. She really felt that she was going through a bit of an aspiration crisis. So she decided that was the right moment to join the family Greek house. She joined but decided to put off moving in for another year. She didn't want to acknowledge it but she really wasn't ready to part with Trey just yet.

Gabriella on the other hand knew exactly what she wanted. She still had a mind to discover more about her parents' death and she spent a good deal of time battling the depression that had stolen her mother away from her. But she knew what she wanted and that was to spend the rest of her life with Remington. He provided her with something that no one else had ever been able to...Love. Sure her aunt and uncle had always treated her as their own daughter but she never really knew if it was love she experienced or pity. With Remington, she knew it was love and that was a powerful feeling.
So one afternoon Trista helped her do up her hair and she arranged to meet up with Remington downtown at Rodney's Hideout. She hated that Remington had moved out of the dorms before Cyto arrived. She had hoped he would stay there and she missed being able to walk down the hall to see him whenever she wanted so it was at Rodney's that they would have to meet. Now, most people came to Rodney's for the cards and the pool but Gabriella had always gone to admire the lovely pond surrounded by colonnades the same color blue as the water. She'd spent hours sitting on the benches alongside the pond just gazing into the water. So this seemed the perfect place to propose to Remington.
Now Remington was a little surprised when Gabriella had told him where she wanted to meet. She had never struck him as the card-playing type. But when he arrived and saw her seated by the pond he understood that it wasn't cards she enjoyed at Rodney's it was the hideout part. He walked toward her and when she saw him her lips formed a smile. The smile she smiled at Remington was one that only he had seen because only Remington had ever brought true happiness to Gabriella. So when she took him by the hands she told him all these things. As she stood there holding his hands she told him that Bacillus and Mallory weren't her parents but her aunt and uncle and that her parents were dead. She told him how her mother had killed herself and how she had no idea how her father had died. She told him how he was the only person in the world that had ever loved her.

And after she had told him all these things she sunk to one knee and asked him to marry her.
At first Remington didn't know how to respond. Gabriella had just unloaded quite a lot on him. He knew he loved her but he was a little alarmed to find out about her family. But regardless of what she had just told him he did love her and he did want to marry her so after regarding her for a moment Remington told her he loved her and would marry her. They held each other in a long embrace enjoying the feel of each other's arms around the other and taking in the warmth of the sun shining on them and the sound of the pond's gentle lapping on the banks. (Simmer's Note: Remington really did hesitate for a few moments before responding to Gabriella's proposal and the response was a little different than what I had grown accustomed to seeing.)
Gabriella had come a long way from the abandoned little girl that she once was. But in the back of her mind would always be the question: what had truly happened to her mother and father?
Simmer's Note: I had to include this shot of Gabriella now and Gabriella as a toddler. She has really turned out quite beautiful after being such a homely little toddler. She does have Orlando's nose but it has proportioned itself out nicely on her with those nice full lips I think.
