Pet Stories: Best in Show Walkthrough Guide

1: Give Sam Love
Alice wants to show Sam how much she loves him. Click on Sam. Select "Give Love...", then select any of the interactions.
2: Change Clothes
Alice thinks it's time to change her clothes. Click on the dresser in Alice's bedroom, then select "Plan Outfit..." then "Everyday". Now pick an outfit you want Alice to wear.
3: Change Look
Alice also thinks she needs to change her appearance. Click on the bathroom mirror and select "Change Appearance". Now choose new hair, make-up, etc. for Alice.
4: Fill Dog Bowl
Sam is hungry and needs Alice to refill his food bowl. Click on Sam's red food dish in the kitchen and select "Fill Bowl".
5: Scold Sam
Sam has been naughty and needs to learn. Click on Sam, select "Scold For..." then "Destroying the Furniture".
6: Teach Sam to Come Here
Sam needs to learn some basic commands starting with Come Here. Click on Sam, select "Teach Command", then "Come Here". Now wait for the bar to fill.
7: Greet Visitor
Alice needs to answer the door and find out what the lady wants. Click on Diana DeBore and select "Greet Diana DeBore".
8: Ask Diana to Leave
Alice has had enough of this woman. Click on Diana and select "Ask to Leave..." then "Diana".
9: Poke Diana
Diana refuses to leave, so Alice will need to take it a little further. Click on Diana. Select “Fight…” then “Poke”.
10: Take Sam for a Walk
Like every other dog, Sam needs to be walked to keep fit. Click on Sam and select “Take for a Walk”.
11: Read the Newspaper
Alice needs some ideas on how to pay off her debt. Just click on the newspaper which the newspaper person has placed on the ground and select “Read”.

12: Go to Community Lot
Alice needs to go to “Playground for Precious” to register Sam for the dog show. Click on the phone. Select “Call…” then “Call Taxi”. When it asks you “Who needs a ride?”, select “Multiple Sims”. When the Taxi arrives and a window pops up asking “Where would you like to go?”, choose “Playground for Precious”.

13: Talk to Official
Alice needs to sign up her dog for the dog show. Click on the table where the official is sitting and select “Register”.
14: Practice A-Frame
Before Alice can Register, she must get Sam to spend a moment practicing the A-Frame to impress the official.  Click on the A-Frame a select “Train Sam”.

15: Register for the Dog Show
Although the official might have not been impressed by Sam, he has changed his mind and let Alice and Sam register. Click on the table again and select “Register”.

16: Chat with Contestants
Alice decides she should chat with the other contestants to get some tips. There are three other contestants; Coach Grinder, Henry Beniz, and Melissa Carter. Click on each one and select “Talk…” then “Chat”.
17: Return Home
Alice decides it’s time to return home. Click on the phone box and select “Call Taxi…” Click on “Home” on the box that pops up.
18: Invite Amaya Over
Alice realizes she’s going to need some help training Sam and that she’ll need some of the training equipment to pull it off. Click on the phone and select “Call”, then “Sim”. On the window that pops up, click on Amaya’s portrait and confirm. Then click on “Invite Over” on the next pop-up window. Finally, wait for Amaya to arrive.
19:Greet Guests
Amaya has arrived, and she’s brought a friend. Click on either Amaya or Thomas and select “Greet Everyone”.
20: Practice A-Frame
Alice is determined to prove the judge at the register table wrong and needs to get Sam to practice the A-Frame. Just click on the frame and select “Train Sam”. Once Sam comes off the frame, you will need to do the same thing again. Keep doing this till the bar for the A-Frame on Sam’s Equipment Skills Panel reaches 35.
21: Scold Sam

Sam has found another way to cause trouble. Alice needs to teach Sam to be more obedient. Click on Sam and select “Scold for…” then “Being Filthy”.

22: Call Plumber
Alice’s bad luck has now resulted in her kitchen sink breaking, so she must now hire a plumber. Click on the phone. Select “Call…” then “Services”. On the pop-up window, select “Repairman” and confirm.
23: Greet Thomas
Again Alice’s bad luck has extended. All the plumber’s have been hired. Luckily Thomas has arrived with his dog Lucy. Maybe he can help. Just click on Thomas and select “Greet Thomas Jones”.
24: Clean Up Water
The sink might have been fixed, but there’s still the leaked water covering the kitchen floor. Alice will have to clean it up. Click on the puddles and select “Mop Up”.
25: Play with Lucy
Alice wants to introduce herself to Thomas’s dog, Lucy by playing Fetch. Click on Lucy and select “Play…” then “Fetch”. (Lucy should be in the back yard.)
26: Practice Teeter Totter
Sam has got another obstacle to practice on. Click on the Teeter Totter and select “Train Sam”. Keep training him till the bar for the Teeter Totter on Sam’s Equipment Skills panel has reached about 35.

27: Go Shopping
Alice thinks reading a dog magazine will help her to train Sam. Call the taxi by clicking on the phone and selecting “Call…” then “Call Taxi”. When it asks you “Who needs a ride?”, choose “Alice” and confirm. When it asks you “Where would you like to go?”, scroll down and select “Vista Strip Mall”.

28: Buy a Dog Magazine
Although Diana might have spammed the neighbourhood with eviction notices, Alice still needs to buy a dog magazine to help her train Sam. Click on one of the three magazine racks and select “Buy”. On the pop-up window asking which magazine you want to buy, choose the first one, “Mutt Monthly” and confirm. Alice will then go to the till and pay for it.

29: Go to Diner
Alice decides to go to the Simolean Diner with Thomas for a meal as the food is great and it’s NOT owned by Diana DeBore.  Click on the phone booth and select “Call Taxi”. On the pop-up window asking “Where to?”, click on “Simolean Diner”.
30: Eat Lunch with Thomas
Alice and Thomas are hungry.  Click on the host podium and select “Be Seated”. When the waiter arrives, click on him/her and select “Order for All…” and choose something to eat.
31: Return Home
Alice better return home to make sure Sam hasn’t caused any damage. Click on the phone booth and select “Call Taxi” or “Pay Dining Bill & Leave” if you haven’t already paid for the meal. On the pop-up window asking “Where to?”, click on “Home”.
32: Clean Up Mess
Unsurprisingly, Sam has managed to make a mess of the house. Click on all the puddles and debris and select either “Mop Up” or “Clean Up” depending on which mess you’re cleaning up. (Make sure you clean up all puddles and debris in the house even if they weren't made by Sam)
33: Read Dog Article

Alice can finally sit down and read the dog magazine she bought. Go into Alice’s inventory and place it on the lot. Then click on the magazine and select “Read About…” then “Training Techniques”.

34: Greet Thomas
Thomas has arrived. Greet him by clicking on him and selecting “Greet Thomas”. You will get another piece of training equipment from him.
35: Place the Training Equipment

The new High Jump Alice has got needs to be placed in the back yard. Go into Alice’s inventory and take out the High Jump. Place it somewhere in the back yard.

36: Practice on A-Frame
Sam needs to practice on the A-Frame again to improve his skills. Click on the A-Frame and select “Train Sam”. Keep training him till his skill for the A-Frame has reached about 60.
37: Practice Teeter Totter
Sam also needs to practice on the Teeter Totter again. Click on the Teeter Totter and select “Train Sam”. Keep training him till his skills reach about 60.
38: Practice High Jump

Sam needs to learn how to do the High Jump. Click on the High Jump and select “Train Sam”. As before, keep training him till his skills reach about 60.

39: Give Sam a Bath
Sam has yet again found another way to cause trouble. Wash Sam by clicking on the bathtub and selecting “Wash Sam”.

40: Go to Dog Park
Alice needs to take Sam to the dog park to compete in the show. Click on the phone and select “Call…”, then “Call Taxi”. When it asks “Who needs a ride?”, click on “Multiple Sims”. When the taxi arrives and asks you “Where would you like to go?”, choose “The Show Park”.
41: Check In
Alice needs to go to the judge check in. She doesn’t want the show to start without her. Click on the judge and select “Check In”. You won’t be able to reach the judge whilst another dog is performing.
42: Call Thomas

Thomas hasn’t showed up at the park. Alice should have enough time to call him before it’s her turn. Click on Alice and select “Call…” then “Sim”. When Alice’s personal phonebook comes up click on Thomas’s portrait and confirm.

43: Compete in Show
Alice has been called to start her performance. Click on the judge and select “Start Show for Sam”. Next click on the starting box and select “Get Sam into Position”. When the timer starts go through each of the six obstacles clicking on each one and selecting “Command Sam to Perform”. When Sam has finished all six obstacles, click on the chequered finish box and select “Finish Show”.
44: Return Home
After qualifying for the finals and having a big argument with Diana, Alice decides it’s time to go home. Click on the phone booth and select “Call Taxi”. When it asks you “Where to?”, choose “Home”.
45: Greet Otis
Alice has seen this guy before. She’d better greet him and see what he wants. Click on Otis and select “Greet Otis”.
46: Learn the Way of the Paw
Alice needs to learn how to communicate better with Sam. Just click on Otis and select “Learn the Way of the Paw”.
47: Give Sam Advanced Training

After learning The Way of the Paw, Alice needs to try more advanced obedience training on Sam. Click on Sam and select “Give Advanced Obedience Training”.

48: Place Paw
Alice likes the “Jangbu Obsidian Paw” Otis gave her, and wants to place it in her house. Go into her inventory and take out the paw. Place it somewhere in her house. It fits quite nicely on an end table put between the two bookcases in the living room.
49: Go to Bed
It’s late and Alice has gotten really tired. Click on the bed and select “Sleep In Pajamas” or “Sleep in Underwear”.
50: Call the Police

The burglar alarm has went off and Sam is nowhere to be seen. Alice must call the police. Click on the phone and select “Call…” then “Emergency”. On the pop-up window select “Police Station” and confirm.

51: Search for Clues
The police can’t help so Alice must search for clues. Wait a minute… Is that a mug? Pick it up.

52: Go to Coffee Shop
Alice has found a mug from “Café Grounds” in her house. Click on the phone and select “Call Taxi”. When the taxi arrives and a window pops up asking you “Where would you like to go?”, choose “Café Grounds” and confirm.
53: Confront Brock
Is it just a coincidence that Brock’s in the Coffee Shop? To confront him, click on Brock and select “Confront”.
54: Search Abandoned House for Sam
Brock has told Alice Diana’s other henchman has Sam at the abandoned house. Click on the phone booth and select “Call Taxi”. Click on “Abandoned House” on the window that pops up. When you get to the abandoned house, click on the floor in the kitchen where Reece is standing a select “Go Here”.

55: Confront Reece
Alice has found Reece in the Abandoned House and must confront him. Click on Reece and select “Confront”.

56: Give Sam Love
After finding Sam, Alice wants to show Sam how much she loves him. Click on Sam and select “Give Love”. Then select any of the options available, “Feed Treat”, “Belly Rub”, or “Stroke”.

57: Return Home
After being reunited with Sam, Alice thinks it’s time to go home. Click on the phone booth and select “Call Taxi”. On the pop-up window, click “Home”.

58: Read Note
There’s a new Tire Jump obstacle with a note attached outside Alice’s front door. To read the note click on the Tire Jump and select “Read the Note”.
59: Chat with Thomas
Thomas has arrived and Alice wants to talk to him. Click on Thomas and select “Talk…” then “Chat”.
60: Confront Diana
Diana has appeared and Alice wants to confront her about Sam’s dog-napping. Click on Diana and select “Confront”.
61: Ask Diana to Leave
She's just came in and Diana has already over stayed her welcome. Click on Diana and select “Ask to Leave”.
62: Chat with Otis

The Obsidian Paw disappeared just as Diana left, and Otis has come to give some advice. To talk to Otis, click on him and select “Talk…” then “Chat”.

63: Make Coffee for Amaya
Amaya has come over to cheer Alice up. Alice decides to make a cup of coffee for her friend. Click on the coffee maker and select “Make Coffee”.
64: Chat with Amaya Alice enjoys chatting with her friend and hasn’t had time to do so recently. Click on Amaya and select “Talk…” then “Chat”.
65: Open Package

Someone has delivered a package on Alice’s door. Click on the package and select “Open Gift”.

66: Train on the Tunnel Equipment
Alice needs to train Sam with the new Tunnel Equipment from Thomas. Go into Alice’s inventory, take out the Tunnel Equipment and place it somewhere in the back yard. Now click on the tunnel and select “Train Sam”. Keep Training him until his skill for the tunnel has reached about 50.

67: Train on the Collapsible Chute
Alice also needs to train Sam on the Collapsible Chute. Go into Alice’s inventory and take the Collapsible Chute out. Place it somewhere in the back yard. Now click on it and select “Train Sam”. Keep training him until his skill for the Collapsible Chute reaches about 50.
68: Train on the Tire Jump Equipment
Sam is still to practice on the Tire Jump Equipment. Click on the Tire Jump and select “Train Sam”. Keep training him till his skill for the Tire Jump reaches about 50.

69: Go to Dog Park
Alice needs to take Sam to the dog park for the competition. Click on the phone and select “Call…” then “Call Taxi”. When it asks you “Who needs a ride?”, click on “Multiple Sims”. When the taxi arrives and it asks you “Where would you like to go?”, choose “Bartholomew Greens”.

70: Sign In
The show is about to start and Alice needs to sign in. Click on the registration desk and select “Register”.

71: Take Seat
Alice and Sam are going to be performing second. Alice must take a seat until it’s her turn. Click on a seat and select “Sit”.

72: Compete in Show
It’s Alice and Sam’s turn to perform. Click on the judge and select “Start Show for Sam”. Next, click on the starting square and select “Get Sam Into Start Position”. Then go through each of the obstacles in order clicking on each one and selecting “Command Sam to Perform”. Finally click on the finishing square and select “Finish Show”.
73: Sit with Amaya
After beating the previous contestant, Alice needs to get a seat to watch the rest of the show. To sit beside Amaya, click on the empty seat Amaya is sitting beside and select “Sit”. Amaya should be in the top row.
74: Go to Judge
Alice has won the competition. Go to the judge to collect her prize. Click on the ground near a judge and select “Go Here”.

75: Return Home
After winning the competition, it’s time for Alice and Sam to head home. Click on the phone booth and select “Call Taxi”. On the pop-up window which asks “Where to?”, click “Home”.

76: Invite Amaya Over for a Meal
Alice wants to invite Amaya over for a meal to say thanks. Click on the phone and select “Call…” then “Sim”. When Alice’s personal phonebook appears, click on Amaya’s portrait and confirm. On the pop-up window click “Invite Over”.
77: Invite Thomas Over for a Meal

Alice decides to invite Thomas over too. Without him she wouldn’t have been able to keep her house. Click on the phone again and select “Call…” then “Sim”. When Alice’s personal phonebook appears, click on Thomas’s portrait and confirm. On the pop-up window, click “Invite Over”.

78: Prepare Meal
Alice should feed her buddies. Click on the stove and select “Serve Breakfast…”, “Serve Lunch…”, or “Serve Dinner…” depending on what time of day it is. Then choose a meal from the options given.

79: Play with a Puppy
Sam and Lucy have had puppies. Click on one of the puppies and select “Play…” then any of the play interactions.
