Judges are encouraged to make a $25 donation OR donate an item worth $25 or more.

No shared entry fees: Please note that each shower is required to pay a fee, this includes family members and proxy showers.

Due Date for entry fees is May 17th, 2008.

  No walk-ins.

SET UP: 7 am. You will need to check in with Kathy Tomlinson, the Show Coordinator, prior to setting up your table.

You must have a signed release form on file (ie your entry form) AND you should sign in on the sign in sheet!

SHOW BEGINS: 8 am on the dot.

SHOW LENGTH: this will be a long show as the classlist is long. Please plan on 12 hours minimum. What is nice however, is that the classes will run according to the classlist CONCURRENTLY. You can plan on the classes you are showing in. For example, if you are planning on comming early (which this time are the FOAL classes), you can show the first classes of the day and know what they are and leave early and know what classes you are going to miss. If you plan on comming late, you can know what classes at the begininng of the day you are goin got miss.

AWARDS: Flat ribbons for 1st, 2nd, and possibly 3rd place... we will have recycled flats for 3rd-6th and possibly 10th place. If you have flats (Standards Size without the string)  that you can donate- they are much appriciated!

Section Champion/Reserve ribbons; Division Champion/Reserve rosettes from ALL judges. First and second place winners will also get a NAN card and an Express Show Championship card, allowing them entry into the 2009 MHORSE Championship Show.

All ribbons are handmade by Melissa Vipond of Ringside Ribbons!

SHOW FORMAT: This will be a version of the Express Show we had last year, but when it comes to judges, it will be on a smaller scale. As of January 29th, we are planning on all of the NAN cards being from Silver Spur Live and only having two judges. This may change as all of these plans are currently tenative.
One judge would be judging halter (green NAN cards), one would be judging collectiblity and finish (yellow NAN cards). The showhostess has ordered enough to have two halter judges and one collectibility and finish judge per class. This is tenative.

SPLITTING AND COMBINING OF CLASSES:  There will be NO splitting or combining of classes. Entrants pay good money to get the awards and the budget for the show is allotted with the class list presented, therefore there is no need to combine or split a class.

YAHOO GROUP Please sign up on the Express Show Yahoo Group www.groups.yahoo.com/group/SilverSpur2008

This group will offer the answers to many questions and last minute show info.

NORTH AMERICAN MODEL HORSE SHOW ASSOCIATION  rules are in effect for this MEMBER SHOW. Each horse that is awarded a first or second placing will be given a "NAN Card". This card allows the model entry to the North American Nationals in either 2007 or 2008. It is the winner's responsibility to fill this card out completely, and to keep track of it. Replacement cards are not issued by either the showholder or NAMHSA for any reason. Judges are not to show in the divsions they are judging. Judges are not to judge the horses of their "relatives/signicant others". Judges may not judge horses they have owned within the last 6 months, nor are they to judge any horse upon which they have collaborated upon creating. Please see http://namhsa.org

AREA HOTELS: Most hotels that the show-coordinator would refer you to are in Dundee, Michigan- for just an average hotel, for a place to crash for the night, and the best for your money- the Days Inn is a good choice.

CLASS LIMITS: three traditional models per class, three minis. Each model may only be entered in ONE class in the entire show.

MODEL IDENTIFICATION :  all models are to be tagged by the owners, PRIOR to the show, with white string tags, approximately 1 x 1.5" in size. These "price tags" are available at Miejer, Target, WalMart and office supply stores. The models breed and gender are to be on one side of the tag; the models name and the owners three initials are to be on the reverse. When horses are placed on the table, the tags MUST be breed/gender side up, with the owner's initials FACING THE TABLE to make the entry anonymous, or the judges may disqualify the entry.

SHOW TABLES:  Each entrant will have one 8 foot table. ALL of your personal property must fit on or completely UNDER this table. We need to be sure to keep all door ways and aisle ways are clear in case of fire, and not to mention that others could trip, injure themselves, and damage horses finishes and/or body parts. Any damage is the sole responsibility of those involved, it is not the liability of the show/show holders.  Please be courteous to others, everyone has a small space and we must keep within the space provided.

SALES TABLES: you may sell from your table, additional sales/trading tables are available for $20 each.  Show management retains the right to refuse sales tables to non-showers. Please contact the show coordinator.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE POLICY: Cell phones are to be put on vibrate. All items such as GameBoys or laptops must be operated WITHOUT sound. Failure to comply is grounds for dismissal without refund.

DRESS CODE: :) We will be back at the Monroe County Fairgrounds 4H Youth Center this year for a smaller show, and it is going to be in MAY- so no worry about freak snowstorms and worrying about dressing in layers- : ) ) ! The building is heated and air-conditioned and very well loved. You may want to bring a few pairs of shoes to switch into during the day becuase your feet will be TIRED at the end of the day!

SECURITY AND LIABILITY: Security is the responsibility of each individual exhibitor. Show management, judges, volunteers and other associated parties shall not be held liable for any kind of  damages or loss to persons or property.

CHILDREN: It is suggested that young children are not brought to the show as they become bored, and in their activity may damage personal property of others. If you must bring your child(ren) please note that is it your responsibility for their behavior. You may be asked to remove the child(ren) from the show site if they become disruptive, and classes will not be held up and refunds will not be given. You will also be held liable for any damage that your child(ren) do.

PETS are not allowed.

Foul language and unsportsmanlike conduct are grounds for dismissal from the show with no refunds.

Do not handle anyone else's horses for ANY reason without their permission.

UNCLAIMED MODELS Models not removed from the show tables in a rapid and timely manner will be moved to a "Pony Pound". The show/staff shall not be held liable for damage or loss to these models.

ORIGINAL FINISH MODELS (plastic, china) ARE NOT TO BE ALTERED IN ANY WAY. Repairs only are allowed. These models MAY be restored; however it is the discretion of the judges as to whether or not the model has been restored or repaired properly. Judges may disqaulify altered horses at their discretion.

TIPPY MODELS may be shown lying down on a soft cloth. If you do not want this model handled, place a 3x5 card next to it stating that the model is NOT to be touched. If the judge is not to handle the model, the judge may so choose not to include it in the judging.

  • ANY model with MORE THAN ONE factory customization must be shown in Rare/EFCM. • If there were 70-125 non customized models produced (the majority of SRs)  the model can be placed in either Rare/EFCM or OF Stone. Shower's choice.
  • Over 125 models produced, the model goes in OF Stone.
