Our raison d'etre here at Silver is to provide a place for independent artists to shine. So if you're an indie artist in any art form - visual arts, literature, music, jewellery, crafts or whatever - then come on down to the shop with your creations and we'll take a good look at them. Everything in the store is sold exclusively on consignment, so we don't purchase your products, rather we sell them for you. We also provide a place for you to promote yourself to the public. Our huge bulletin board is for artists only, on which you can post your flyers, posters or ads (i.e.: musicians wanted, studio available, knitting machine for sale, etc) ... as long as they're arts and crafts related, we'll post it. We're here to help you network with other artists. And to top it all off, if your artistry includes performance aspects (poets, writers, musicians, performance artists), we also provide an intimate acoustic space for you to perform in. Wednesday nights will be performance nights here at Silver, our art lounge provides some cozy seating and there's ample standing room for a small crowd.

So maybe you're a musician who has created a cd. Silver can be a permanent "home" for your cds. Sure, record retailers have indie sections, but they're not motivated to sell your cd for you. In contrast, we here at Silver are. Not only will we sell your cd, but we will also air it over our in-store audio system for the customers to hear, we'll post flyers for your upcoming gigs on the bulletin board, and you can also perform in our store. Maybe you're a photographer who wants to show their work. We'll display your photos in our art lounge, sell them for you, and promote your show to the media (i.e.: Now Magazine, Bravo, or whoever you want to know about it). Or maybe you're a writer who has created a zine, or a poet who has put out a book of their works. We'll sell your books and zines, provide you with a place to do a book or poetry reading for a night (or more), and post flyers for your upcoming readings on the mega-board. The possibilities are limitless. We're open Tuesdays to Sundays from 11 am to 8 pm, so what are you waiting for? Come on in to Silver!
