You all probably know the old clans,but this is just a memory refresher.

Fireclan

Riverclan

Snowclan

Earthclan

The new clans are based on the old clans.Iceclan is based on all 4 clans.It is based on Thunderclan,it being the strongest clan, Riverclan because they are right near the river and usually fish for prey,Shadowclan for thier amazing abiltyto hunt at night,and Earthclan for being fast runners.Fireclan is based on Shadowclan,it being an evil clan.Earthclan is based sort-of on Windclan,being they hunt on land and in medows.I am not very sure about Snowclan.....I'll have to check with Icestar and get back to you ;-). 

I just found out about Snowclan.Its based on Riverclan.I kinda forgot why.Very Sorry.
