Up to date, NYP Silat Team have won Overall Champions title twice since Inter Varsity Polytechnic Silat Championship was setup. Our first glory was at National University of Singapore (NUS) on 2000. Since then, NYP Silat Team became one of the most successful team in Inter Varsity Polytechnic Silat Championship. However, NYP Silat team lost the title over the years by a mere margin.

In 2006, as host for Inter Varsity Polytechnic Silat Championship 2006. It was double glory for NYP Silat team, under the guidence of Abg Nana & Kak Aida as we regained the coveted title back to NYP. This year, NYP Silat have the major task of retaining the Championship as the title is again put up on the line.

Year 2007 will be a memorable year for NYP Silat Team and our coaches, Abg Nana & Kak Aida. This year, competition level was of higher standard with over 200 participants. Hard chase right from the start and NYP grab 3 golds, 2 silvers, and 1 bronze for Seni category. The title was beyond reach of any insistutions after our Captain, Syaheed's match which he won gold, followed by another win against NUS by Aini. Signed, sealed, delivered as the song goes, NYP Silat Team sealed the title of Overall Champions, Seni Champions and Tanding Champions for the second time in the row, levelling the total overall champions tally of 3 times champions which ITE held. All smiles from the team and our fantastic coaches, Abg Nana & Kak Aida.
