Sierra Madrone Grove, ADF

A Sacramento Area Druid Community

About Sierra Madrone Grove

Our Grove is affiliated and sanctioned by Ár nDraiocht Féin (Irish pronounced “arn ree-ocht fane”, meaning “Our Own Druidry”), or ADF, which is an international organization devoted to creating a public tradition of Neopagan Druidry and grants our Grove 501c3 nonprofit status. Sierra Madrone Grove was founded in March 2004.

We are a group of like-minded people who gather to study Druidry and to celebrate the eight Neopagan Druid High Festivals or Holidays with a focus on the traditional Celtic pantheons.

We hold a variety of workshops, campouts, nature hikes, study sessions and rituals open to interested pagans and those who just have a genuine desire to learn more as they find their own path. All of our eight rituals are open to the public and includes a potluck.  We meet on the second Friday of every month for our Dedicant meetings and druid discussions.

We have members who have either completed or currently working on ADF’s Dedicant Program, one who is enrolled in the ADF Clergy Training Program, another in the ADF Generalist Study Program, and a Reiki master.  We provide a number of services including house blessings, legal handfastings, funerals, etc.  Contact us for more information.

Our Senior Druid, Reverend Sean Harbaugh, is a consecrated ADF Dedicant Priest, and thus provides legal clergy to lead our Grove.  Sean is also serving as the ADF North West Regional Druid and as such will be working with others on spiritual and leadership development in the region.

We hold our rituals outside. We use the classroom at the Unitarian Church currently, as we are searching for a new permanent Nemeton.

Our Grove charges no membership fees; however, in order to vote or hold office, one must be a current  member of ADF, which is $20.00 per year.  We do hold occasional fundraisers and welcome donations of any type including ritual supplies. Ask how you can help.

About ADF

ADF provides a flexible structure for a Neopagan Druidic religion based on
the practices of the ancient Indo-Europeans, adapted to the needs of a
modern people. It's a non-profit religious, scientific, educational,
artistic, and charitable corporation whose members practice the full range
of activities practiced by most religious organizations.
We are dedicated to the preservation of our Holy Mother earth, the full
achievement of human potential, the revival of the worship of the Goddesses
and the Gods in a modern context, and the creation of world peace, freedom,
health, prosperity for all intelligent beings.

To accomplish these goals, ADF advocates and practices many sciences, arts,
and disciplines, both mainstream and alternative, within a non-dogmatic,
pluralistic context, in order to change ourselves, each other, and the world
around us.
