Thirty cars are about to set off this morning on a 7,000 kilometre charity trek through outback Queensland and the Northern Territory.
The pre-1976 vehicles will travel from Mount Isa in the state's north-west to Roma in the south-east - via Darwin and the Kakadu National Park - to raise funds for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
Director Ken Godfrey says the annual event also hopes to raise awareness.
"It's an annual event that we take all the pre-1976 cars out into the outback raising much needed funds for SIDs and Kids Queensland," he said.
"When one baby dies, 51 people are affected we've worked out ... like with brothers, sisters, uncles, aunties, grandmothers ... it's a very sad situation to lose a young child.
"It's people having fun while they are raising money ... we have a goal of $100,000 for this 10 days - it's not a race, it's just a drive in the country with a lot of friends, teaching people about SIDS and awareness of SIDS and where the money goes with all the counselling for bereaved families who have suffered from SIDS."
We now have a message board on this site, if you would like to join please click on "SIDS Support Forum".
This site has been created in loving memory of my daughter Isabella and every other baby that has passed away from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
SIDS is a silent killer that claims the lives of over 2,ooo babies every year. God Bless every family that has suffered the loss of a child.
"What we have deeply loved we can never lose, for all we love deeply, becomes... a part of us"
