Newbie Guide

So, you've just joined Side Saddle Sim and you're wondering what to do now huh? Well here I have put together a simple guide for new members to read to get a good understanding on how to play the game correctly (because SIM games can be very confusing!). So read on...

Where you are now...
This is the stage where you are now, you have just read the Rules, been accepted as a member, created and activated an account on the Forums and posted your Intro message. What to do next? Open up a Bank Account and set up your Equine Records.

Bank Accounts & Equine Records
Opening up a bank account is extreamly simple. Simply go to the Forums, look under the 'Records' section and you should see two Message Boards titled 'Bank Accounts' and 'Equine Records'. Click on the one named 'Bank Accounts'. This is where you keep track of your SIM money and Creation Credits, and any other info you find nesscessary. Create a new thread and name it '(your name here)'s Account'. There! All done, now the set up of a Bank Account is easy, all you have to include is how much money you have, how many creation credits you have, and any recent transactions. For example:

Money- 250,000
Creation Credits- 8
Recent transactions- Created 2 horses

To create an Equine Account you do the same. You keep all your horse info on your Equine Records. Heres an example of my Equine Records. You can copy this one and modify it or you can make your own. It must however have all the following information:

Creation Records
Created 3 horses (Geronimo, She's A Lady, Versace).

Speed Age Records
None.

Breeding Records
None.

Purchase Records
None.

Sales Records
None.

Health Records
Versace
Vet check: Done.
Farrier: Done.

She's A Lady
Vet check: Done.
Farrier: Done.

Geronimo
Vet check: Done.
Farrier: Done.

Creating Horses
To create a horse, you must have Creation Credits. When you join the game you are granted 10 Creation Credits, and in order to earn more creation credits, you have to see the rules and abide accordingly. To create your horse, visit the Horse Registry page and follow the instructions there. Once you have done that you will need to make a page for your horse feauturing all his details and photos. You will need to know HTML to make these pages. If you don't know HTML, visit this site: lissaexplains.com, or you can simply ask another member to assist you or enlist another member to make a stable for you (but you should give them something in return for their hard work).
The next stage is to find your horse a Stable to live at. You may either create a Private Stable or board at a Boarding Stable. A Private Stable is a stable you create yourself and keep your horses there, a Boarding Stable is someone elses stable where you can board your horse at.
Also you will need to have your horse Vet checked and seen to the Farrier.

Shows
Entering shows: Entering a show is easy. To view all the Shows go the the Events Centre. Usually each show will explain how to enter etc. Before you enter a Show you must make sure your horses have been vet/farrier checked.

Hosting a show: For every show you host you get $10,000. When you host 3 shows you get an additional $30,000, and when you host 5 shows you get an additional $40,000. To start with you must have a facility to host the show at. If you own your own stable or association then you can use that as a place to host your show. If you do not own a stable or an association then you must ask permission to run your show there from someone who does. Next you must have a page that features all your info on it, such as the name of your show, what type of show it is (gaited, dressage, jumping etc), where it is being held, the date of your show, how much the entry fee is, the rules, the class list, the entry form and any other info needed. Once that is done you must submit it for approval. Please submit your show at the Events Centre for approval. Please submit the results using the Randomizer. You're own horses can't enter your own shows.

Ways to make Money
Host a Show: For every show you host you get $10,000, the show must be completed. When you host your 3rd show, you get $30,000 and when you host your 5th show you get $40,000.
Create a Boarding Stable: If you create a Boarding Stable you will recieve $15,000 for making your services public. This rule will soon change once we get enough boarding stables.
