HO Scale Model Railroad

MY "HO" Modular build

About 5 Years ago we (our Club) Talked about doing a Modular Railroad in HO scale that we would take to shows and display locally,Always seemed to be one thing or another that turned our attention somewhere else, well finally this spring we decided to throw caution to the wind and build it,we had been raising funds threw our Sunday Morning get togethers. We decided that the Club would pay and build all 4 corners which were expertly built by Bill Coburn.

Bill Coburn Finishes Corner #4

We All pitched in to get this Project rolling, Here Ken S is painting his and my 2 4 foot Modules.

Lucky for us One member Rick C (below) gave us his shop for a month or 2 to get it built and all put together.

Here our Senior Member Hank L,sanded all the cork for everyone's module as well as the corners.

3 Sundays ago,we had all the Cork and track as well as switches and spur lines on the 2 mains,Also all the track was painted and all ireing done (all 14 Guage wire on the main track and 22 Gauge on all the feeders) we ran trains for the 1st time useing a MRC DCC system.

Here we have the 1st run of the semi Finished Module, missing is two 6 Foot modules as we didn't have the room for them, over all size of this Module is 28' X 8'

September 2008

Our 1st set up of all the modules on Sept 20/08,here the boys start assembly bright an early..9.00AM

All hooked up and ready to roll, the modules are still fairly bare as weare only 3 months from the start of construction.

My 2 Modules #9 and #10,this end is the "Diesel Inspection Facility and fuel racks, the far Module #10 is a 3 bay engine house and an older abanden shed and a water tower,I am about 50% finished and have aways to go but am enjoying it.

Here's were I started about a month ago, I like the look now.

As you read this the engine house has been repainted and weathered to make it look much more realistic.
