Welcome to our Australian Russian Blues website.  Our names are Louise and Robert Townsend.  Together with our daughters Crystal and Savannah we are proud to specialise in the breeding of magnificent Russian Blues in the beautiful Hunter Valley.  We are a small cattery breeding for quality, not quantity.  Our kittens are of the highest quality, are affectionate and loving as well as being genetically sound and disease free.  We pride ourselves on being ethical, responsible and genuine breeders.

Our breeding philosophy is to raise healthy kittens with wonderful temperaments.  Our cats are part of our family, so temperament is of utmost importance.  All Siblic kittens are born, reared and socialised in our home so they develop into friendly well adjusted pets, ready for their new forever homes.  Russians are not prolific breeders with the average number of kittens in a litter being three or four.  As a result of this there is often a short waiting list.  This also helps to show us who is genuinely keen and who is an impulse buyer.  In addition to this we also ask a non-refundable deposit of $200 be paid when placing your order for your kitten.  When you collect your kitten they will have had at least one vaccination, will be micro-chipped and vet health checked and come with a kitten pack and information sheet.  Your kitten will also have been fully wormed and litter trained, and if possible, will have been neutered/spayed.  Our cats and kittens are registered with Waratah National Cat Alliance, so you will also receive your kittens full pedigree and all paperwork will have been already completed.

Our kittens are sold with the undertaking that they are to be indoor companions only and are not to be exposed to the dangers of the outside environment unless in an enclosed area.  Many people aren’t aware of the dangers to their kitten/cat when they are able to stray outside unsupervised, exposing them to traffic, other animals, poisons, disease etc.

An important point for you is to ensure that you are dealing with reputable people, so do your research and ask the right questions.  If a breeder takes offence, or does not answer your question then you can usually suspect a problem.  To us breeding is about quality of temperament and health, since our cats are to be a part of your family.  Our kittens are raised so they will fit into you daily life with ease.  Your new kitten should be relaxed and comfortable soon after arriving and within a few days will be ready to shower you with love and affection.  You can help the transition process by providing a quiet, safe and secure place for them to get to know you in.
