CATREBA SIBERIANS. RETIRED - NOT FORGOTTEN

My web site is not just about Siberian Cats, it is about my Siberians.  This page is in recognition of the Siberians that were a part of what is Catreba Siberians.  They may no longer be in a breeding program, but they played an important part in my journey into getting to know this wonderful breed. Ch. Fabulafelis Egregia & Pinecat's Amadeus have their own page. Essie & Alpo

Older Siberians looking for their own exclusive slaves.

If you have a genuine interest in becoming the adored personal slave of one of these girls, I would love to talk to you. Scroll to the bottom for information and photos. Microchipping, 1 year health guarentee (and if sold as a pet,) spaying, inclusive in the price.  If you are interested in purchasing a Siberian, please read Catreba policies on the Kitten Enquiries page.

LUBIM DIKAYA KRASSA, (Loui)

Loui is from St. Petersburg, Russia, bred by Irina Sadovnikova. He arrived in 2002 after being fostered in Finland for 7 months on the Pets Passport  Scheme.  Loui is reserved with visitors, saving all his affections and cuddles for me.

He has developed into a massive boy with a fabulous head. He is a magnificent male with great presence, truly a gentle giant. He has consistantly produced  kittens of the desired type with heft and good bone. Approaching 6 years he has now retired. Loui's lines are free of known HCM, PKD & FUS carriers.

CATREBA XZANADU - Gregory

Gregory is out of Essie's first litter. We retained him as a  stud boy and while a stud boy he produced some beautiful offspring.  I retired him at 3 years when it became evident he passed on the tail fault inherited from his mother.  He now lives a very spoilt life with his new family.

I took Gregory to many shows and exhibitions to promote Siberian cats.  When on exibition at the Supreme and National he would draw large crowds as he showed off in his harness to the public. He is a wonderful embassador for the breed and it was at the National Show in London, he was filmed by the Blue Peter team. He always did well at GCCF and FIFe shows. Gained Merit awards every time shown and many 1sts in SLH Misc.  For me his most momentous award was being nominated and winning BIS SLH at a GCCF show.  As Siberians are not fully recognised by the GCCF yet, they cannot compete for titles and he did have to give up this GCCF award. But what an accolade! When a judge loved his type so much they completely forgot this!

*To claim these titles it would have been necessary to register both with TICA within a certain time limit.

CATREBA XZANTIA - Heidi

Heidi is the litter sister to Gregory.  She is a stunning girl with excellent type and a typical Siberian coat.  Glorious in the winter and sparse in the summer which sometimes meant she couldn't be shown.  She has the most loving nature, producing two beautiful litters with me before going to stay with Carol Sankey in Yorkshire.   Heidi was successful at both GCCF and FIFe shows and when shown GCCF, gained Merit's, also winning SLH Misc classes.

CATREBA TAISHA - Kat

Kat is Heidi's daughter from her first litter.  She is one of the most beautiful colourpoint Siberians I have seen.

Kat now lives in Spain as a much treasured pet with Merle Kleinglass and her young family.

On the 28th of June '04 she gave birth to a litter of 5 kittens!  Her kittens were stunning, the 4 lynx pointgirls like peas in a pod. Only the day before, I had rushed her to the vets because I had felt a 'lump' in her abdomen, thinking she must have a tumour.  Even after examination it wasn't clear what the problem was so she was given an ultra sound scan. Three foetal heart beats were detected!! To say I was shocked was putting it midly, as she had never been put with a boy! My vet couldn't say how far pregnant she was either. After racking my brains, I remembered an incident while staying at my mothers home in Lancashire, (I was showing Kat, Essie & Gregory at Blackpool.) The cats were in a living room, with Gregory being contained in a large pen. I had gone to check on them after my nephew had been in to see them and found Gregory out of his pen.  As neither of the girls were calling and they were quiet and calm, I was relieved to have avoided a mis-mating and thought no more of it. I continued to show Kat and she showed no signs of pregnancy. Working out the dates, Kat was due the very day I had taken her to the vets!!  All 5 kittens were average sized and healthy and she was a great mum. Kat's daughter Catreba Naglaya is shown regularly by her owner, Moira Wilson at GCCF shows.  She has numurous Merits and consistantly beats some of the UK's top titled SLH breeds.

CATREBA YAROSLAVNA - Patchouli

Patchouli is out of Lulu's first litter.  She was never shown (until recently) as an adult as I wanted to breed from her. The plan was to send one of her daughters to St Petersburg in a part exchange for another kitten. Sadly my plans to breed her never came to anything as she had other idea's and refused to co-operate with either Loui or Gregory. When we did find a mate she accepted, she came home with an infection, causing complications and later Pyometra. To save her life she was spayed. See below

  • VCC 2 day show Dec. '07 - Ex1 x 2. Nom. BIS Female Neuter x 2. BIS Siberian Female Neuter.

ELEA von der SANNOSCHKA

Elea came to me from Germany in June 2005.  Bred by Dr. Kerstin Gerlach, she was bought to introduce silver to my breeding program and expand my gene pool.  She has a lovely sweet nature and was everyone's friend.

After a year of trying for kittens, with the help of hormone treatment, she produced two singleton kittens, both girls.

I was thrilled to have a lovely little girl to carry on from her.  After her daughter Bella was born and because of  her continued difficulty in becoming pregnant I made the decision to have her spayed. Sad for us, but the right decision as she was found to have cystic ovaries.

Elea's parents, Ch. Cosimo v.d. Sannoschka and Gr. Int. Ch. Gelja v. d. Muldenaue are both HCM negative.

PATCHOULI.  Black and white tortie. 4 yrs. Pet. Patchouli is a lovely girl who would love the chance to be spoilt. SeeAbove

SAPPHIRENSTEEL FABERGE -Phoebe.

Black tabby Pet.  Phoebe came to us as a very shy and independant girl but on a one to one she craves affection. If you live on your own with no other pets, she would make a loyal companion.

CATREBA GRIFINA - Evie. Silver tortie tabby and white. Pet/Show - Evie is a stunner with her autumn colours. Being unable to decide which to retain, I kept Evie and her half sister for my breeding program. I eventually decided to retain Lola. Evie is very playful and affectionate, has been shown twice.  She would suit a home with older children and would make someone a wonderful companion.

CATREBA HELENKA - Lenka. Torbie and white. Pet. Lenka is the sweetest girl who is overlooked because of her disability. Due to an infection her mother caught while visiting another cattery, Lenka was born with an eye abnormality and has no vision in her right eye. This does not affect her health.  Lenka doesn't think she has a problem and can do anything the other cats do. She is very affectionate and playful. If you would like a cat who would love to spend the whole day on your lap, she could be your ideal companion.
