Climate/clothes

The weather in Singapore remains generally the same throughout the year. The temperature remains around 30 degree celsius. Even though the weather may heat up for some days, but it is soon followed by short spells of rain. Hence, it is something like a Bombay type weather there. Boarders usually wear shorts and t-shirts in hostel. Quills don't find a place in Singapore. A plain sheet or very thin blanket should suffice.

Beaches

Singapore represents a land of exotic beaches. The chief among them are Sentosa and East Coast Park. There are also many other attraction in these two places apart from the beaches. One can rent equipment at several spots for canoeing, wind surfing, cylcling or roller blading in case it is boring to just lie on the beach. One can really have a ball of a time at these beaches.

Little India

If you are an Indian and really missing the busy streets and the hustle-bustle of India in Singapore, then Little India is the place to go. The streets are narrow and there are small shops and restaurants everywhere; something which may be quite uncharacteristic of singapore, but very well representative of India. The celebrations and the whole atmosphere during key Indian festivals like Delhi does indeed remind of India. Apart from that, there are many small and big restaurants there, which provide typical Indian food. Moreover, the huge multistory shopping mall Mustafa also finds a place in Little India. If you are a religious person and would like to visit a temple, Little India won't disappoint you on that too. Just a few paces away is Sim Lim Square, where one can find the all types of electronic and computer equipments.

Just like Little India, there is also China Town, and it too represents the traditional and cultural China on a small scale.

Orchard Road

It stretches 2.5 kilometres and is said to have the largest concentration of shopping malls worldwide. There is so much to see and buy. The multi-story shopping malls are indeed amazing. There are shops of almost all type. In short, it is nothing less than a shopping paradise. The areas surrounding the Orchard Road are also lovely, with areas and streets lit up quite beautifully during the Christmas and New Year. Even though it may not be the the cheapest place to buy things, but still it is a great place to hang out. And it is also the place where the scholars will have their ragging session at the New Year.
