SHUNRA BURMESE, SHAELUM LANE PONY STUD

Burmese Cats and kittens, Shetland Ponies and Welsh Mountain Ponies

PARK AVENUE USHIBUBBA

PARK AVENUE USHIBUBBA

Park Avenue Ushibubba,or Ushi as she is known by, was bred by Jan Steward of Park Avenue Burmese. This delightful Blue tortie girl is a very gentile little lady, and I am quite besotted by her. Being Saliken Scobie's grand daughter, the temperament is as always a prominent feature. Ushi enjoys sleeping between Glenn and I at night, and is never any trouble at all to have in bed with you. The torties have grown on me since having Angel in the house, and I couldnt resist the opportunity to have another in my life.  Ushi has made such an impact on my breeding program and my life in general, and as such when her retirement comes later this year, she will stay on with us as a retiree, I dont think I will ever be able to part with someone who means so much to me and has had such an impact on my breeding program.

SHUNRA TIA MARIA

Shunra Tia Maria, the full sister from the previous litter of Ch Shunra Ahkenaten has come home to stay with us here. It is strange having Tia back in the house, I am not used to having a brown girl around- but she has such a sweet temperament just like her father, and is settling back in here very nicely. She is the spitting image of her mother now, but is wrapped in a lovelly warm brown coat unlike her mother Paris who was a lilac queen. The photo on the home page of our site is of Tia as a baby, I am yet to take some of this lovely girl all grown up.

ARIADNE AMUNET AMARULA

Amarula, well where can i begin???  I was waiting all last year for her mother Karellame Lady Jane to produce a litter by her father, Gold CH Cato Chocko Chino, and as such Lady just did not want to do it for me. With Lady being in Love with Chino as she was, I decided to give her to Chino's mother Linda so she could live with him as a girlfriend. I had given up hope of having another kitten under my prefix from Lady, and was quite surprised when Linda rang me and told me Lady had settled in there well enough to produce a litter!! I was very thankful Linda decided to give Lady a shot before retiring her to full time love life with her apparent hubby, as if she hadnt, then this little lady would not be on here with me. She is a chocolate burmese female, and is someone of my own who can finally go to my brown stud, I have not had a litter of my own by him since he has been working, and as such, his kittens by the outside females of other breeders have been quite promising.

Amarula has attended a number of shows now, and has brought me home some amazing awards. However, as true to her nature, and temperament of being a typical female, Amarula's show career will be on hiatus from the end of this month, as she began calling at four months of age, and i have held her off as best i can until now, as she will be old enough to breed come the end of August. It is in her best interest that i do this- I would like to further her show career, but she feels destined to become a mum. I will post details on our kittens page when Amarula is expecting. I hae planned for her to go to my brown stud, Ch Shunra Akhenaten for her first litter, and I am hoping for some stunning, smoochy brown, lilac, chocolate and blue babies, my fingers are crossed.

BEVOLIN RIDE THE LIGHTENING

This lovely little blue girl has come to us from Beverley Gregson of Bevolin Cattery and Arabian Horse Stud in South Australia, bringing to us some outside bloodlines for our breeding program. Alicia as we have fondly named her after the last two syllables from the band name Metallica, as her registered name is one of their album titles, is proving to be a beautiful little monkey with a smoochy little temperament. She is currently running amok indoors with Amarula, our rescue moggy Dora the Explorer, and Apache Rose our cream dream.

Alicia is growing to be a lovely big boned girl, with beautiful eyes. Her coat condition gets commented on by judges at show, she has the best coat condition of any of our burmese here, and we couldnt thank Beverley enough for allowing us to have this wonderful little young lass.

Shunra Brazen Miss Demeanor

Shunra Brazen Miss Demeanor, or Missy as we have called her, is a delightful little Blue Tort who is by DB GD CH Kariad Lucius of Kariad Cattery in Cranbourne, out of Park Avenue Ushibubba, has been retained by Shunra Burmese in the hopes that she can take over the role of her mother when Ushi is retired at the end of this year. Missy is a dear sweet girl who has excellent boning, muscle tone and coat condition, and is an improvement on Ushi in conformation, is awesome with the kids, so the temperament the lines behind Ushi are known for has come through in packets once again. Missy's outlook on life here only goes to show that temperament is the key to everything with breeding, without the temperament a Burmese wouldn't be what it is supposed to be,  and nothing would be the same without it.

Shunra Calypso Selene

Shunra Calypso Selene, or Selene as we have been intent on calling her, is a stunning little Lilac Tortie who i just couldnt bear to part with when the time came to start looking for homes for the other kittens in this litter. She is the full sister from the same litter as Missy, so we will have two girls here to carry on in the place of Park Avenue Ushibubba when the time comes for Ushi to be a lap cat like she deserves. Selene is turning out to be quite the looker compared to Missy, and is growing into herself quite nicely, and her eye color is quite fetching at nearly 6 months old.  Both Missy and Selen have been shown, and Selene at the most recent show we attended, placed Best Burmese Kitten in one round of judging. Selene is quite the character at home, and can be seen with Missy running a million miles an hour when they are allowed the entire house to play in. I am sure these two Naughty Torties are going to give me headaches at some point with their antics, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
