![]() The APRIL 2005 magazine is now available. For more details see the Magazine section From the President. I am very proud to tell you that March marked my 8th year as President and Stockton Historical Society will have it's 10th birthday on the 22nd November. Good News! The plaque that was stolen from the "Norfolk Rock" around Christmas 2004 was returned and is now back on the rock very, very securely. On Saturday 5th March, eight members attended the 33rd Hunter and Coastal Historical Convention, hosted this year by Raymond Terrace Historical Society. It was a very pleasant and interestin day among nice people and great food. After the meeting we were taken on a bus tour of Raymond Terrace to see some wonderful old buildings and we all got stuck in a very old building on the river bank while a torrential downpour had us marooned for about 10 minutes with the rain coming in all around us. We do have some adventures don't we? At the February meeting it was moved and adopted that, as from July this year, annual fees will be $20 which will include the four magazines put out each year. Don't forget the June, July and August meetings are held in the afternoon, so if you don't go out on a winter's night you can come and see us in daylight. Our Historical Signs project is gradually getting closer to fruition with some exciting plans on the drawing board. Stockton must have some very good gardens and gardeners judging by the number of plants we sold on Australia day. We do hope they have grown, if not, let us know. I am sure we can supply you with more. Enjoy the magazine Irene Butterworth - President ![]() January 31st, 2005 »New President's Report and January 2005 Magazine details added. |
