All three coaches are in fitting with the I.P engineering 'Lollypop' range. Coach No.3 was the first purchased, from I.P themselves, and was made up, in a rush thus resulting in the poor body finish, it is hoped that soon the sides will be sanded down and re-painted in crimson fitting in with the rest of the 'service' rake. Coach No.2 was scratchbuilt by my Grandad & I at his workshop in the Lake District, it was drawn up on AutoCad using the same profile for the 'sides' as on the I.P 'Lollypop' range, having two compartments and a roof this differs from anything produced in that range. The valances were added to hide the horid bogies that were found in the bits box. The struts to hold the roof up were made so that the plastikard roof would not bend. Coach No.1 was again produced by the same people at the same location, this is the 'brake composite' of the rake. The full height sides on half of the coach are because that's the gaurds compartment and he must spend all day in there and deserves a small amount of shelter from the elements. The duckets are whitemetel castings purchased from I.P. I know they don't look 'great' in the cream but the crimson paint used on the coaches works as a wood stain, and therefore it won't work on metel. Thanks Grandad for two great coaches!
