No Gain From Internal Trade
| Before we joined the EU, we were trading satisfactorily with Commonwealth countries such as Canada and New Zealand. For example, the Winward Islands had no business except for bananas. The UK promised to buy a certain amount of bananas from them to ensure that their economy did not collapse. When we joined the EU, it became increasingly difficult to trade with the Winward Islands than the EU. If we stop this, the Winward Islands would collapse, resultng in the country living in poverty. |

| Due to the new Eastern-European countries, such as Latvia and Estonia having joined the EU, they will be demanding more funding to develop their countries. The only source of this money is the developed rich European countries. Therefore, to fund the under-developed countries, the money would have to be taken from the developed, leaving us with less money. |

| Due to the Maastricht Treaty, the barriers of the EU were dropped. This allows anyone to live in any other EU country. Therefore, this means that Eastern-Europeans, who previously had to claim asylum (or, as the case often was,
illegally immigrating), now have free entry, who may come in with nothing to offer the country, and live, unemployed, draining our funds to their benefits. |
No Loss Of National Identity
| If the EU continues in the same direction, Europe could result in one big 'Superstate'. It would not benefit us to be amalgamated into the rest of Europe. |

Before the EU, we were the biggest power in the world, owning many countries in the Commonwealth. That has now been changed since we joined the EU.
Joining the Euro would most likely devalue to below that of the pound, meaning that our economy would worsen further. |
