Welcome to the fantastic world of Short Factor. This is a tempory website to at least convey what exists currently. The world of Short Factor is still small, for it has only just begun to grow.

Music section may be seeing something soon...

New website: Shiny and Flash based! On the way!

April 27, 2008

The Arena... the what? What is this nonsense?? It is a site parallel to The Dojo. It will feature updates on the new SSB fan game Super Smash Bros Arena. If you want to know what this game has up its sleeves, you will want to give it a look. In other news, NASF 2 is making decent progress, but my consumption with this new game project is taking up the majority of my time. I think by the time the game is released though, you will definitely agree it was worth it. The people who have played the early betas so far think it's amazing, and that's just the earliest beta version. I can't imagine what the rest will be like. Or maybe I can...

March 16, 2008

Well, if anyone is interested, I do have Super Smash Bros Brawl now, and if you want to exchange friend codes, drop by my profile page on Newgrounds, get my friend code and username, and send me your friend code by email or Newgrounds private message. Well, some of you may or may not know, but I have recently started the Ness Beats Everything Collab, which you can find info on in the Newgrounds Flash Forum. That should be done in about two weeks or so. The Master Games Ep 2 needs many revisions, so it is probably going to be delayed. And as I said on my NG profile page, NASF 2 has one foot out the door, so there is a chance it might come into existence...

February 23, 2008

Hoo jeez, has it really been that long since my last update? Well, with the success of Sprite TV 2 (which I was part of, in case no one noticed), I plan on making my own sort of random skits sprite movie. I'm really glad Sprite TV 2 went over that well. Anyway, I've been remaking a lot of parts in Sonic vs Shadow 3, but I also have been working on it more often. Does this mean it will come out sooner or later? Who knows. What I do know is, I'm having serious trouble working out technical details in The Master Games Ep 2. And I still haven't even finished writing the entire series' plot line (it will be done soon though). As for finishing the episode... as soon as I manage to figure out what to do in the scene I'm working on, I should be able to finish up the rest of the movie without much sweat. It's been... SO LONG since I last released an action sprite movie! I guess I'm just a master of suspense. Well, I'm living back with my dad now, so I will be online MUCH more often.

October 27, 2007

Well, I've decided to also cancel NASF extras. I'm really tired of NASF. So that means no Sonic vs. Shadow 3 Teaser (WAH!!!) But the movie is in the works. Though it may not be the greatest thing ever, it will be decent. I have a lot of focus on The Master Games right now. I'm also trying to get some nice 3D software, so I can start making teasers of the SF Trilogy (game series planned to start several years from now; also to be my greatest ever feat in multimedia, and a channel for alot of my philisophical concepts). Also, me and my father are getting along now... that was quite unexpected, but after a long series of discussions, we've began to work out our problems. So that's the best news of all right now. I doubt anyone cares about my personal life that much anyway.

September 25, 2007

Sorry it's been so long since my last update. Since the release of "The Master Games Episode 1", that series has become my focus, which conflicts with the constant demand of "Sonic vs. Shadow 3: Chaos Revealed". I have good ideas for both (better ideas for TMG), but wish I didn't have to make SvsS3 anymore. I don't really like the series anyway. And by the way, I'm canceling Super Chuck Norris Bros because 1: I made it with very outdated software that I don't use anymore, and 2: I lost interest. What? You're calling me shallow!? GAH!!!

July 18, 2007

So, uh... things are running a bit slow, despite the fact that I just got Short Factor up and running. And, perhaps, things will speed up a good deal within the next few days. Maybe I'll finally put something in the "Music" section that's been gathering cobwebs since this website came online. I don't want to put up any of my really good composures in fear of copyright issues (after the Sonic vs. Shadow thief fiasco). Music is my best ability in both traditional and digital arts, and as such, something I hold onto much tighter than Flash movies. Chances are, the music coming from me will be some good techno or trance, with my best video game remixes, of course. In my head, I've plotted out about 95% of NASF in my head, so actual production of the movie will start very soon! I do want to release one or two other movies first, so I know I always say "be on the lookout", but this time I think I really mean it. Something in the form of an awesome Flash movie must come from me soon! I musn't keep everyone waiting anymore! GAAHH!!

April 30, 2007

Excellent news, everyone. Thanks to an amazing twist of fate, since I was moved to a new foster home, it just so happens I was situated right next to an old friend of mine, who I do not consider just a computer wizard, but a computer sorcerer. He took some spare parts and built me a half-decent computer that allows me to use all the programs I need to run Short Factor. Anyone with brilliant deductive reasoning knows that this means Short Factor is, yet again, up and running. It's been rough times for me here, but things are working out for the best so far. My computer has no internet access, but that is easily managed by the facility I visit every few days. So, I will begin working on NASF again...

April 6, 2007

Well, I was recently moved to a new foster home, and as such, now have a lot more internet access. I should be able to update every few days or so. But because I still lack a computer for multimedia design, I'm afraid Short Factor is still shutting down for now, but it may not be for as long...

Also, because I felt these two movies have either failed or recieved to many bad reviews, which I would prefer not let affect Short Factor's reputation, I have removed "In Our House: Vol. 1" and "The Moon Colony", because they were too short and poorly made, just about slapped together, and are examples of my poorest efforts. For anyone who still wants to see "The Moon Colony", it's available at YouTube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=MGqSgwCuqnE Since my skills as a cartoonist are actually really good now (please don't judge "The Moon Colony", I'm ashamed I ever made it), I will be making new installments of "In Our House" that will be good this time, I promise.

March 31, 2007

Bad news, ladies and gentlemen. I have recently ran away from my father (well, that is good news) and am now in foster care, and I have virtually no way to continue Short Factor right now because I have no way to access the internet or even a decent computer, except my rare escapades to the library. Short Factor is now temporarily shutting down, and may not be back up for months. Sorry. All of my projects are now postponed.

February 17, 2007

To help prevent catastrophies like my Moon Colony movie, I have decided to add a new section, which you will find on the right. It is a complete listing of projects I have completed and have in production. This will make updating easier and not leave anyone in the dark about my "future works" that I brag about. If you have any questions about them, please save my inbox space and use the Comments and Suggestions page instead. You can leave comments without having to sign up for anything, so it's very convenient. In other news, I have finally started some rough draft animations of Not Another Sprite Fight. I don't plan on posting any of them anywhere right now, but I should have a teaser ready that I'll put in as an extra in one of my upcoming movies.

February 04, 2007

So, I finally got that new graphics card. But, to my dissapointment, it doesn't fasten CG renders at all. That is based off of the computer's processing power. It was worth it anyway. At least I can play almost any game on the market, and run any realtime rendering lightning fast. That and I can output visuals to my TV, fu fu fu... So, I just submitted a blind sighted Flash movie to Newgrounds. Yes, it was quite unexpected, I'm sorry. I didn't have much time to make it, but it's nice anyway. You can find it here: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/362547 I will be adding the information to the Movies page too. So, now I'll try to focus on some of the Flash movies I've actually been talking about for months. Stay tuned folks, the fireworks are still under construction.

December 07, 2006 (Good News)

Thanks to a brilliant intervention with my superintendent, my ability to use the computer has been restored (which would explain this huge update gap)! I don't know how long this will last, but hopefully, it will be enough time to get a new project done, like an animation, or an update on Super Chuck Norris Bros. Expect to see some sparks fly, everyone, something new is coming from me one way or another.

September 24, 2006

I've got a new movie idea brewing... one that I came up with long ago, in the age of "Sonic vs. Shadow: Rivalry" and "Sonic & Shadow vs. Pokemon." But I have revived it, and am editing the idea like mad. It's called "VG Island"  and, in a sense, is the sprited equivalent of "Action Toast" (no one knows much about that movie yet, but you'll see). Unfortunately, my new computer does not have the wonderful 64 meg video card that the website promised us. It's a crappier version of the 32 meg video card that my old computer had. It has problems with OpenGL support, so I can't run certain 3D rendering programs properly. What's even worse than that is I can't swap it out for a new one because it's integrated. However, the good news is, I am saving up for a new 256 meg video card (I almost have enough money) and will contact a friend of mine who is a computer expert, and we'll see about getting it working. Not to worry, none of my projects have been post-poned (except, possibly, Sonic vs. Shadow 3 if it takes a hell of a long time to get the new video card... that's right, I need it to create the awesomeness that it will be). I'm still at full steam, so expect to see more Flash work coming soon!

September 16, 2006

My birthday was two days ago! And as a present, I'm getting a new computer that's about 3 times as powerful as the one I've been using. Expect to see some amazing new artwork and animations coming out in the future, for within a few days, I can create with topnotch 3D rendering programs. As a result, I've put aside working on "The REAL Sonic 2." I've moved on to Flash recently, as SWiSH 2 is old and slow. VERY VERY slow. I can click as fast as I want in Flash, and it's FAR more powerful than SWiSH 2 is. I can't go back to SWiSH as easily now. So when I get my new, faster computer, I'll finish up what I have in "The REAL Sonic 2" because the new computer will work faster with SWiSH. Right now I'm working on some sweet new animations that I've been wanting to make for ages. Also, as a result of my Flash conversion, I've scrapped what I have so far in "Not Another Sprite Fight," and will remake everything in Flash, seeing as now I can do so much more (especially audio-animation sync... I drool over that feature).

Old:

My current movie project is "The REAL Sonic 2." Don't worry, folks, it won't be nearly as bad as the first one. In fact, the animation will be great quality, and even the jokes used will be way better. I'm also working on a new sprite fight, called "Not Another Sprite Fight." It is cliche' in concept. It is a fight between many classic video game characters. But, I am going to make it even greater quality than "Sonic vs. Shadow 2: The Chase." Everybody seems to wonder why these movies keep getting made. I'll tell you why. Because each of us wants our own shot at making an awesome sprite fight between classic video game characters. And here's mine. Also, this may help me understand why so many crappy sprite movies keep getting high scores. And there are a lot out there. After these two movies, I'm going to begin work on my animated epic, "Action Toast." Yes, fools, it will have action, explosions, and a llama.

I've been in the field of game design for a long time, but very few people know about that. I will have playable demos of two of my newest games out soon. "Super Chuck Norris Bros." and "Chicken Ignition."
