Ken Kaufman was born on Febuary 27, 1960 and passed away on November 23, 2006.  He lived a very short life but was a great man to all who has met him.  He loved helping others and making new friends, which is why he joined the Kearny Fire Department.  As soon as he started, he fell in love with the job and would'nt replace it for anything else.  He made tons of friends in the department and even got real close with some of them.  He always had a smile on his face whether they were hanging around the house or at a blaze. He had courage, strength and determination, nothing would stop him.  In 2001, he was diagnosed with colon cancer. In 2003 he got a brain tumor, up until his passing he had seven brain tumors removed. He fought four long years of it and just could not fight anymore,  it had gotten the best of him.  He will be missed deepely but we have to remember all the good times we had with him and just hope he is smiling down on us.  R.I.P Dad <3
