SOCIETY-Latino and Hispanic Writers

Our Path to Publication

From the President:

Ruben Soto, founder and first president, was the visionary who established this society on July 12, 2004.

Our inaugural meeting was at Barnes & Noble, San Pedro Crossing, a place we now call home.

During that first meeting, Ruben spoke to us about his quest to form a society that would enable writers--beginners and published--to network with each other, and more importantly, inspire each other to get published.

Since its inception, the Society has grown and evolved, and we have formed wonderful friendships with the San Antonio Express-News, Gemini Ink, the San Antonio Public Library, and other writers' groups in the city. We owe a heartfelt "Thank You" to our friends at Barnes and Noble--San Pedro Crossing and Fiesta Trails--for their continued support of our organization.

Membership in the Society continues to grow on a monthly basis, and average attendance at our monthly meetings remains strong.

Thanks to Ruben, the Society has spawned a new chapter in Miami, Florida.
