 Consumers need choices when changing their shopping habits! My product offers that and so much more. Plastic shopping bags are a huge polluter of this Earth and its only getting worse. After doing research I learned a few scary facts. Each person uses 83 plastic bags a year and very few end up in the recycling bin. Many are added to our landscape and water ways via the wind, and poor discard choices by the consumer. The bags that are blown on to water ways eventually end up in the ocean, killing thousands of marine animals through suffocation or accidental ingestion. Plastic bags take over 300 years to break down in landfills, and even then they still leave pollution in the soil. There are many web sites about plastic bag pollution and what I found disquieting were all the linked ads FOR buying plastic bags on these sites. My bags are created from reclaimed cotton shirts. They are washable and dryer safe, each one is different, and they are convenient to use. The so called "recycled bags" offered by the bigger stores are themselves made of plastic pellets, and they do not have the wear or the
longevity of cloth bags. They tend to lose their shape when washed, and often the handles are too short to carry comfortably.

After trying to use purchased cloth bags I realized the designs left a lot to be desired! Handles were too short, too narrow, not made strong enough for a full bag, and the bags themselves were expensive. I decided to design a cloth bag made of reclaimed organic textiles that are comfortable, adjustable, and actually carry any weight of groceries. I have done that!
