DESCRIPTION:      11th Annual Chesapeake Squadron (BAC) Sea Scout Canoe Race

                                  on Monacacy River near Frederick, MD.
                                  Open to ALL Sea Scout Ships AND Venturing Crews
                SUBJECT TO REQUIREMENTS LISTED IN BOARDING MANUAL (BELOW).

This 3-leg canoe race on the Monocacy River near Frederick, MD. is a timed event w/ shotgun start. Spectators can watch from several vantage points. Optional Crew/Ship picnic (you provide food) after the event. Teams consist of 2 to 6 persons; there must be 2 Team members (and no more) in the canoe at all times. A 2-person team can do the entire race; larger teams of up to 6 Sea Scouts/Venturers must split up into pairs, each pair racing down one or more legs of the course. A couple of rental canoes ($6 each) are available on a VERY limited, first - reserved basis. 
UNIT LEADERS must phone or email event the contact listed ASAP to reserve a canoe if needed.
