~Never ending of Edo dynasty. Kaishu's mission of fate~

note: this is the short synopsis version. full version to come soon.

The men surrounding Kenshin told the redehead to stay away from Katsu Kaishu. However, in Kenshin's confusion, the men mentioned Beni Aoi and when they saw that Kenshin is still oblivious to what it means, they deduce that Kenshin is not working for Katsu and leave with just a warning, stating that they don't need to beat up the redhead. Kenshin says that he will protect Katsu no matter what.

The next morning, Daigoro started to do the daily chores with Yahiko with the latter somewhat taunting him for getting easily tired. Daigoro then speeds up and Yahiko is the one who got tired easily in turn. He also starts his training in Kamiya Kasshin Ryu with Yahiko while Itsuko prepares their meal. Kenshin, in the meantime was lost in his own thoughts when Sano told him that he was impressed with Daigoro's progress. Kenshin then expresses his own approval.

Itsuko was preparing their meal and Kenshin was back to his thoughts when they were called in for meals. Daigoro is also shown being a little upset with Itsuko and said that doing what he's doing right now is a great thing. Over dinner, the people talked about Kenshin's visit to Katsu and who Katsu Kaishu is. However, the conversation goes to Daigoro telling Itsuko to go home to her father. Itsuko will hear none of this and insisted on staying. Later on, Sano told Daigoro to take his time because with Itsuko around, Kaoru need not cook. Kaoru overhears this and gets mad, moving away with the watermelons she was about to give the guys. Beside Sano, Yahiko was reading a book (although it was upside-down ^^) and started mocking Sano when the latter expressed his interest.

Kenshin was thinking and dark clouds started to roll in. He faces Daigoro and started to ask about Katsu. Daigoro narrates about Katsu's past negotiations and everyone thought this could be the grounds for some crime. However, Daigoro remembered one of his talks with Katsu and tells everyone how he values the book he was reading (a present from Katsu). He also says that he is unaware as to whom the attackers earlier were. Sano started talking about it and Kenshin remembered the fight. It was raining by now and there was a carriage on the street with Tetsuma in it.

Tetsuma goes to Katsu's place, warning the older man that the government is after the money that went missing at the end of the Shogunate. Ten years ago, when Edo-jo (Edo Castle) fell and the Shogunate ended, a lot of the wealth that belonged to the Shogun went missing. One of the only people suspected of knowing where it was hidden is Katsu Kaishu. However, Katsu will not relent and even asked Tetsuma where he can hide such a large amount of money. Tetsuma tried to persuade Katsu to leave with him but the older man said no.

At the dojo, Daigoro tried to back out of a sparring match with Yahiko, stating that Yahiko will beat him since he is just a beginner. However, Itsuko will not have this talk and tells Daigoro her mind. Daigoro then agrees to the match and had practically backed Yahiko into a corner! He was about to score on Yahiko when he experienced some back pain, rendering him unable to continue the match. Sano, meanwhile, was outside, spouting poetry! Itsuko afterwards nursed Daigoro and, unknown to them, Kaoru accidentally eavesdropped! Sano and Yahiko came and there was a skirmish. Kenshin later joined in and ended up getting dragged away by Kaoru.

Meanwhile, the Beni Aoi decided to do something that very night...

Itsuko was cooking and Kaoru was watching from behind. Itsuko sensed her and said that she can teach Kaoru to cook and hinted that Kaoru was doing this for Kenshin. Kenshin, meanwhile, checked outside the dojo to make sure that nobody was around. However, unknown to him, the Beni Aoi was around. Kaoru then teased Itsuko when the other realized that a particular ingredient was not present so she went out to get some nearby, leaving Kaoru to cook! Outside, she is intercepted by the group of thugs and was rendered unconscious, her hair pin falling. Inside the dojo, Kenshin-tachi comes to see the food burning. While Sano and Yahiko were getting mad at Kaoru, Kenshin senses something amiss and finds out that Itsuko went out. He ran and sees the hair pin. Katsu, on the other hand, had received a letter from the Beni Aoi telling him of his daughter...
