Presentation of Credentials

Mr.  Heath E. Kennedy
Mr. Heath Kennedy is the new Director of Orchestras at Shiloh High School this year. Prior to his employment at Shiloh High School, Mr. Kennedy taught at Bolivar-Richburg School District near Olean, NY and the Ithaca City School District in Ithaca, NY. Mr. Kennedy received his Bachelor of Arts degree in music at Oswego University in Oswego, NY. He holds a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Mansfield University in Mansfield, PA.  While there, he served as a graduate assistant.  He has played in numerous orchestras, including the Southern Tier Symphony under the direction of Mr. John Whitney.  He has also played professionally for churches, civic groups, and many pit orchestras. In addition he has been an adjudicator in New York State.  Mr. Kennedy has been published in the New York State School Music News.  Last year his Middle School Orchestra was awarded first place at the Dorney Park Music Festival in Allentown, PA.  He is a member of  the Georgia Music Educators Association, MENC and ASTA, as well as Pi Lambda Theta, an international honor society and professional association for education.  He resides in Decatur with his fiancée Christa and their dog, Samson.

 

                       

 

Mr. Dion A. Muldrow

Mr. Dion A. Muldrow is beginning his first year as Director of Bands and Assistant Director of Orchestras at Shiloh High School after completing four years of teaching at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia.  During his tenure at Apalachee High School he served as Associate Director of Bands, band director at Bethlehem Elementary School and music arranger for the Apalachee High School Marching Cats.  Bands under Mr. Muldrow’s direction have marched through Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom at Disney World and performed in the world famous Isaac Stern Auditorium in Carnegie Hall in New York city.  A native of Sumter, South Carolina, Mr. Muldrow received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Georgia in 2001.  Prior to receiving his bachelor’s degree, Mr. Muldrow served on the staff of Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps in 2000 as music rehearsal technician.  He is a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association, the Music Educators National Conference, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Kappa Kappa Psi Band Service Fraternity and the Professional Association of Georgia Educators.  Mr. Muldrow’s personal honors include selection for Who’s Who Among American Teachers on three occasions and selection for Who’s Who in America.  Mr. Muldrow is an active adjudicator in the state of Georgia and resides in Athens with his fiancée Rachel.
