Shia LaBeouf Interveiw, By: Emma Watson

                                                  Shia LaBeouf Interveiw

                                                     By: Emma Watson

What's its like to keep your cool when lizards are sitting on your shoulder? Chat with the actor, Shia LaBeouf about working with reptiles and digging holes in his new Disney film, "Holes". Shia also stars in this summer's "Charlie's Angels: Full Throtle".

The interveiw:

Emma: Welcome to the Shia LaBeouf interveiw! This afternoon we are pleased to wo welcome shia labeouf who stars in the new film "Holes". Welcome, Shia, to our exclusive behind the scences interveiw.

Shia: Greetings!

Emma: I have a zillion questions, so let's get started! Shia, did you have to read the book, before you done the movie?

Shia: I didn't have to read the book, but I choose to because Louis Sacher was such an interesting man.

Emma: What was the most exciting part of your movie, in terms of things you had to do on set?

Shia: It was definatly the truck driving. I was 15 and didn't have a drivers license and that was cool for me. Personally every scence I did I did with John Voight was amazing because he is such a experiencal actor. Kinda like playing basketball with Micheal Jordan.

Emma: Did the lizards every really bite you?

Shia: No, the lizards we had didn't have teeth. They were trained lizards. I don't know how the heck you train a lizard, but they where trained. The ones that did bite were all CGI, computer generated.

Emma: On your first Emmy nomination, was that the first Emmy you were nomanated for?

Shia: I don't know what you would consider major. This is definatly the the biggest award. I don't even know how to take it. I am supposed to be reading "Playboy" and hanging with my friends and I am nominated for an Emmy. That is pretty outragous.

Emma: How is doing a movie different than doing Even Stevens?

Shia: The big difference is money. The bugdetory things like craft service and hotel and even the car  they pick you up in is better. We had a very small buget on "Even Stevens." Our budget was like $100,000 a show and that is nothing. With money that buys you more time. Craft service is better on a movie set. You get like Starbucks catering your movie. You don't get that with a TV series. You've got someone's aunt like droping things off for you.

Emma: "Holes" did really well in the box office. Are you surprised at how well it did?

Shia: You never think you will have hit it until he hit it.You just never know. That's the part of the gamble. I never thought it would be like this. When we were making "Holes" we thought, let's just survive and get through this. It blew up. They estimated 10.1 million and we made 17.5 million. That was on Easter weekend and that was really great. I am not a numbers man. I am just so happy that the movie was as sucsseful as the book was. That is a complimeant, a pat on the back to everyone who worked so hard to bring this movie together.

Emma: Was it hard to film when you were under the blazeing heat all day in the "Holes" movie?

Shia: Extremly hard. The ground tempeture in Ridgecrest was 150 degrees. You could literally fry something on your forehead, it was so hot! These dust whitouts would come and you couldn't see even five feet in front of you. There would be people stuck in those winds. We did a two week boot camp before we got out there. It was enough to survive, let alone act and make a movie. It was very hard, seriously.

Emma: Has working with reptiles during filming pherhaps move you to keep one as a pet?

Shia: No, I am not a lizard guy. I am Jewish. I think I'll stick with dogs. I wouldn't know what to feed them, looking at how big there turdes are. Parrots need like what? Lizards need too much attention plus I am scared to death of them. I don't lik any kind of scaly anthing, that's why I try to stay far away from my grandmother.

Emma: Did you always want to be an actor/

Shia: I didn't really know what profession acting was, but I saw it on TV or in a movie and I was like 'that's what I want to do when I grow up.' Then when I got older, I realized it was acting. Characters in movies have problems and I have lots of problems. So I really realate as an actor, character. Plus I am a terrific lier. I guess I could be a lawyer, but it just takes to much skill.

Emma: So, now you can get you own chicks now, huh Shia?

Shia: *Laughs* Um not lately. It's getting harder because you don't know who to trust. I don't have internet girlfriends because its way to risky.

Emma: Ok, listen up. I got this email from Shianna West asking: What would you say to someone who thinks your a totally hottie?

Shia: Watch Dr. Phil because you've got serious issues! I look like Disco Screech. I don't know why anyone would even want to date Disco Screech. What's your number? *laughs* Not your phone number, your social security number so we can get really close. Jusy kidding.

Emma: Besides being an actor, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Shia: *Laughs* Oh, I wanted to be a big red fire truck. Not a fireman, a red fire truck. Only because I love the color red.

Emma: Do you have a girlfriend? *********VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION GIRLS****

Shia: No, I don't have a girlfriend. Single man. Solo artist. *Laughs*

Emma: Do you have a nick name?

Shia: Yes! Trigger Happy and Homless Celebrity, because I'm always staying over different peoples houses. Plus two I'm always on the go, which means I travel.......ALOT.

Emma: Shia thank you so much for joining your fans and me to talk about the new film "Holes."

Shia: Thank you guys for supporting me for the journey and tasks that lay ahead. I'm hoping we can do this again soon! It makes me feel like I can do my job eaiser to know that people watch and like the stuff I am doing. It makes me feel like there is a purpose and a reson that I am doing this for. It's very motavating and I appericate that. Much love to Emma and the few people who asked quetions about my days on the set of "Holes." I give you props. If you've seen "Holes" see it again. Rent it, buy it, go to a friend house and see it. See ya!

Emma: Bye Shia. And to everyone else, don't worry, you'll still have another chance to ask Shia questions. On November 21, 2003, we will be doing another interveiw with Shia, so start sending in those emails to emmawatsonchick14@yahoo.co.uk or shia_88@hotmail.com .

******See ya later ya'll. This interveiw was conducted by Emma Watson (II) and Shia LaBeouf on October 2, 2003 at 5:30 central time.
