Sherry-Ann Brathwaite AKA *Lady*Greenz* Ent. is one of Grenada’s many impressionable multi-talented models/ dancers of the new millennium, but an individual in her own right. She's praised for her wildly inventive presentations in the entertainment industry, and respected for her down-to-earth persona. With her grace, beauty, charm, and gift for entertaining, Sherry-Ann has become a successful dancer/model and a Grenadian idol.
Born in 1984 during summer in Port of Spain Trinidad and being raised in Grenada by both her Grenadian parents, Sherry-Ann Anika Brathwaite started performing at age eight in the AME church at St. Georges, Grenada. From dance classes to singing in the church choir, Sherry-Ann was a natural. She and Sister Kessi Brathwaite met Julie Moore during this time, and so they traveled to different neighboring countries at a young age singing and dancing. Sherry-Ann and sister, Kessi would find themselves at the Portifino Italian Restaurant at the Carenage every Friday/Talent night singing and dancing for the many tourists who ate there.
In 1997, Sherry-Ann joined with a couple of high school mates and formed the dance troupe “the Macarena girls” where they choreographed their own routines in the small family room of Sherry-Ann’s parents’ house. During that time, they also formed the first and only cheer-leading group that their High School has ever seen. Writing their own cheers and synchronizing their own routines Sherry-Ann was the head cheerleader but was said to never have been bossy.
Sherry-Ann became one of the first Trinidadian-Grenadian female dancers to enter into the modeling industry. By then she had been associated with the community and evolved with a group called the National Entertainment Foundation (NEF). Being a member, With her elder sister, Chanel Brathwaite who was the president at that time, she was able to assist in the promoting of various artists such as lil John, Tal-pree, lil Nikki and Baseman, to name a few. Being an artist herself at a very young age, she was able to develop an on stage personality which is essential in the entertainment industry.
After about a year of the Macarena girls, she was delighted to join the sister group which was called ‘The Live and Direct dancers’, a well known dance group of Grenada. During the many years that The Live and Direct have been around, Sherry-Ann was fortunate to have shared a stage with National, Regional and International entertainers such as King Ajamo, Inspector, Tall-Pree, Sheldon Douglas, Baby killa, Marshall Montano, Bunji Garlin, Beenie man, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Tiffany and AJ from BET and more.
In 2000 Sherry-Ann challenged herself by competing in a National modeling Pageant called the National Carnival Queen of Grenada, after which she went on to represent Grenada in a regional modeling setting called ‘The Ms Aqua Val’ where she was overwhelmed to have competed against Ms Trinidad, Ms St. Vincent and other islands. Sherry-Ann, although her true love for modeling showed in each and every appearance made on and off stage, her desire for dancing was just as impertinent. Sherry-Ann’s big break was her trophy that she achieved for Ms. Best Photogenic in a pageant, which resulted by her being ‘Ms Courts” as most would say, as she had done regional commercials for Courts (a well known furniture franchise among the islands). Sherry-Ann was recognized by many for her tenacity and professionalism in the entertainment industry and thus was then called by Cable and Wireless to do promotions. Before migrating Grenada in 2003, Sherry-Ann had completed a contract with Cable and Wireless Grenada where she was the figure against a car to be won. While she’s had the opportunity to work with many professionals nationally, regionally and internationally, today Sherry-Ann resides in Canada, where she intends to form a life for herself and her unborn offspring’s as a Real Estate Broker, as well as one still pursuing the life as a model/dancer, she’s currently *Lady* Greenz Ent (Lady Greenz entertainment) a part of Greenzconnection.com which is one of the leading disc jockeys and promotional groups in North America.
