          Fairy tales

Fairy tales usually have problems that can be solved by magic spells, potions or the kiss of a prince.  By the end of the book or the movie the main character has their problems solved and lives happily ever after.  But fairy tales are just stories and real people don't live them.  I created this web site for those who don't live a fairy tale life and for those who don't have a magic spell or potion to offer (or who may not be a prince with that special kiss) but still have a desire to help someone else have a happier life, this site will hopefully help you find a way to do that.

Drop by my guestbook, offer suggestions on organizations and where help is needed or just say "Hi".

          Binky Patrol

The Binky Patrol is a non-profit organization which provides handmade crocheted, knitted, or quilted blankets for children who are sick or who are in crisis.

As the Jackson, Michigan area coordinator I accept donations of money, material, needles, thread, yarn, batting, and of course blankets which are distributed in Jackson county to places like children and family services who give these blankets to foster children who get to keep them for their own....a rare treat for these children frequently uprooted and rarely able to have any possessions of their own.

Any interest in donations of clothing, sheets, bedding or other materials which could be used or participation in this organization please contact me at slhunter2005@aol.com and title your email BINKY PATROL.  I will get in touch with you as quickly as possible.

If you would like to learn more about the Binky Patrol and it's origin, you may contact the official site at http://www.binkypatrol.org  There you may also become an area coordinator yourself, find ways to help other chapters, and patterns for blankets if you want to put your creative talents to work.

          Soldiers' Angels

Many of us have friends and loved ones in the military....or know those who have served in the past.  So you know how much our men and women need our support.  For those who wish to help out a man or woman of our military, there is a site called Soldier's Angels which might interest you.  They provide a number of different services to the men and women of the armed forces.  There you can adopt a soldier...sending them letters and care packages....giving them something to look forward to at mail call.  You can help provide kits for our wounded.  There are other ideas as well.

If this interests you the address is:  http://www.militarysupportnetwork.org/
