Sheik's Gender
Sheik is an Epic Reverse Trap.
Sooner or later i was planning to post this up about Sheik's gender.
And here is how i see it.
People are always arguing about Sheik's gender.
Mainly because some people think Sheik is a male, but if you study Sheik, and also check why Nintendo calls Sheik a "her" its because she really is a female.
The only reason people keep saying Sheik is a male, is because of the "Zelda Ocarina Of Time Manga"
The Sheik from the manga is suppose to be a male, and its own person. But the Zelda manga does NOT count.
Its *Non Canon* which means, its not part of the real ocarina of time game nor part of the creator of Zelda.
The manga story is not part of the game. Therefore, the Manga Sheik does not count. But some people do not understand that and don't want to admit it. They are very stubborn or just like ignoring the fact that the manga is non canon.
It is the reason in Smash bros Brawl, Sheik has breasts now.
Another reason people say Sheik is a male is because of their language.
If you have played the game in another language like Japanese for example. You will refer Sheik as a "he" because the disguise is based on a male but its just a disguise, like Zelda wearing a mask. And since in Japanese everything has a gender, it has to be referred as a "he" or "she" same with French. Zelda only changed her body figure but not her gender.
It is just like brawl Sheik, it is said Brawl Zelda was able to change her figure and hair color/eye color etc...except for her hair length. She couldn't change her hair length.
And also, The one who makes the voice of Princess Zelda is a Japanese actress named Jun Mizusawa. And guess who makes Sheik's voice? Jun Mizusawa as well.
She made the voice of Zelda AND Sheik in Ocarina of time, Twilight Princess, Melee and Brawl.
As i said before, the Ocarina Of Time manga is non canon which means, its not part of the game/story and creator. The one who made the manga only borrowed the characters of Zelda then changed the Zelda Oot story to his/her own way. Reason when you read the manga, the story is completely different.
Some People also think Sheik is a male just because of her chest and shoulder with.
Any woman can make her self look like a man by: Adding shoulder pads also adds with to the shoulders. in fact in the 80's it used to be a fashion statement for girls to wear shoulder pads under their shirts. its a girl with shoulder pads, and a chest wrap. That would make sense. Wrapping a piece of cloth tightly around the chest. its simple, yet effective. Zelda uses bandages to hide her breast.
All along she was her self and NOT some other person, She was just wearing a disguise and acting/pretending to be someone else to not be exposed and be able to continue helping Link.
And before she did expose her self to Link, you could tell that she was starting to act her self again when she met Link again at the Temple Of Time where she was about to show Link that it really was her, Zelda.
Sheik and Zelda are one in the same. There is absolutely no evidence to support the theory that they are separate people. Various clues were left in Ocarina Of Time that connects Zelda to Sheik:
1. A Gossip Stone says that Princess Zelda is a tomboy, which would explain why she chose to make Sheik a boy.
"They say that, contrary to her elegant image, Princess Zelda of Hyrule Castle is actually a tomboy!"
2. Impa is the last of her race and would be the only one who could teach Zelda the ways of the Sheikahs.
Maybe that is why when Zelda was escaping the castle with Impa, Zelda was able to throw the Ocarina Of Time so well to Link..A little girl throwing a item from far away while riding a horse at full speed would have to have some kind of training.
3. Zelda tells Link straight out that she was Sheik:
"I apologize for meeting you in disguise, but it was necessary to hide from the King of Evil. Please forgive me."
4. In Smash Bro's Melee and Smash Bro's Brawl, they refer Sheik in the description of the trophy as a "Her"
One of the other excuses is about Princess Ruto of the Zoras. Ruto referred Sheik as a he when she ask Link to give Sheik her thanks for saving her.
There are 2 possibilities:
1. Ruto did not know that Sheik was really Princess Zelda in disguise.
And of course she would think Sheik was a male. Zelda was able to fool Ganon for 7 long years. Why wouldn't Ruto fall for it as well? Ruto could only scenes that Zelda was alive but couldn't tell where she was. If your going to hide from someone you might as well hide from everyone. The only sages i believe knew that Zelda was Sheik was Impa and Rauru.
2. If Ruto did know that Sheik was Zelda, then perhaps the reason she called Sheik a he was to not expose the truth about Sheik actually being Princess Zelda.
Some people that like believing Sheik is a male is because Sheik has no breasts. Well, have you ever looked how Ocarina Of Time Zelda was completely flat chested? While Twilight princess Zelda actually had some breasts. Zelda kept hidden her breasts by wrapping them with bandages. Ocarina Of Time Zelda had it much easier to hide them since she was flat. While Twilight princess Zelda had more breast that's why maybe we are able to actually tell the breast of Brawl Sheik. Harder to hide.
Sheik is just Zelda in disguise, obviously, and Sheik is not a real person. I don't understand why people make up stupid theories about Sheik. Yes, Zelda dresses up as a guy, but she does not actually change genders during the process. That would be so wrong.
Another way i see it is that since Sheik is JUST a disguise, so Sheik really does NOT exist. She is just a female who "passed" her self off as a boy but did not turn into one. Sheik can be just an illusion of a male but really isn't a male since Sheik is NOT a real person. In reality, Sheik is a female. She looks like a guy, but underneath the disguise, she is still a girl, with her female gender. Everything about Sheik is female, she is just supposed to look like a guy to hide from the King Of Evil Ganondorf. She even said's it her self and apologizes.
