Our Golden Anniversary

Sheffield High School Class of 1957

The Sheffield Class of 1957 nearly doubled the goal of $1957 for the Sheffield Education Foundation, Inc.  Let us not stop at the $3727.85 collected during our Golden Anniversary year of 2007.  See the Navigation Bar for pictures and an explanation of the Honor Walk in the Tomberlin Plaza at our alma mata, Sheffield High School.  Bricks may be purchased for $50 each.  There is space for three lines of eighteen spaces each for your greeting, name, memorial, etc.    Let us add to the foundation with the purchase of the bricks.  I am not certain if those will count toward our total contribution, but I suggest that we note on the order form that it comes from a member of the Class of 1957.  Let me know when you buy a brick and we will keep a running total.    Wouldn't it be great to reach $5000 during 2008?  We can do it!

A letter of acknowledgement from Dr. Joseph Cooney is copied below the picture.  Many thanks to our treasurer, Jerald Homan, for his work in the collection and Braxton Ashe for seeing that we got the acknowledgement.

Dear Mr. Ashe and SHS Class of '57,

It has just come to my attention that through an unintentional oversight, our foundation office neglected to send an acknowledgement letter of the generous contribution you made to the Sheffield Education Foundation in August 2007.  It has always been our policy to mail a notice of our appreciation in a timely fashion, and I sincerely apologize for the unexcusable delay.  I assure you that your check for $3727.85 will be used to further our commitment to quality education now and in the future.  Please let me know if there is anything else we can do or you.

Sincerely,

Dr. Joseph Cooney
President, Sheffield Education Foundation
