So you have decided to join the wonderful world of owning a cow! This is the 411 of everything you need to know.

Lets start off with what type of cow to adopt. Holsteins make excellent pets, especially for starters. Check with your local farm or milk company to see if they are retiring and of their cows. This make take some time but it is well worth it. This is the easiest way to give an animal a better more loving life.This is a great chace to bring joy to you and your family.

Feeding and housing your bovine should be taken care of before they arrive. The National Bovine Care Group Of America says that one cow needs around 10 acres of grassland to be comfy. There also needs to be a water source somewhere on their space. Hay blocks and salt licks will need to be placed in a standard location everyday to ensure proper nutrition. Be sure to check local city codes to ensure that it is legal to keep animals of that size. It is reccomended to have your animal seen by a veterinarian to make sure its health its in tip top shape.
