Shed Your Fears

Update!

Sorry for the absence of new information!  I have been extremely busy with all the animals, the shows, and the beginning of school and work!

Shed Your Fears! will be at Buzz n Bees in Erie on November 15th, 2008!  Buzz n Bees will be having their grand re-opening sale from 10 am to 8pm!

Also, there have been some new additions to the cast of SYF :)

Over the summer I acquired a 10 year old Chinese Water Dragon named Sancho.  His owners were moving and unfortuantely, could not take the fiesty four foot lizard with them :(

Being a former arachnophobe...I am hoping to add some invertebrate education to Shed Your Fears!

Finally, I am pleased to announce that this year will be my first attempt at breeding boa constrictors!  Currently, I have paired up Liora, my albino columbian boa and a handsome Salmon het albino boa... as well as attempting to breed Arie and Acco, the Hogg Islands :)

As always, feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you may have!   (shed_your_fears@hotmail.com)

Over the next few days I am going to begin updating this site, as well as our myspace page ( www.myspace.com/shed_your_fears) !

Thanks!

Jess

Our Mission

I have always had a passion for all animals, especially the less-cuddly types.  I remember being 7 years old and watching the Croc Hunter on Animal Planet and just being fascinated by the snakes, crocs, and lizards...  After Steve's recent death, I thought I should do something to continue his legacy.  That's where Shed Your Fears comes in.

I have founded a type of organization in which I present educational shows to students, and anyone else that will listen.  Using my own collection of reptiles, including some gorgeous snakes, lizards, toads, etc, and some wild-caught specimens, which will be released after the shows, I show people the kinder side of reptiles.

Not only do I present educational programs, but I also play the part of "wrangler," by this I mean that I voluntarily take snakes from places where they are unwanted, and relocate them to a safer place, a bit further from humans.  My main concern with this adventure is the snakes' safety, ideally they should be left alone, but if they are otherwise going to be killed, I would most definately prefer to release them elsewhere.

If you have any questions, comments, or would like to set up a show, please feel free to e-mail me at Shed_Your_Fears@hotmail.com

thanks!

Jess
