Welcome to RAD Ranch Rabbitry

Funny bunnies for little money.

Debbie's Flemish

Now, you are probably wondering...how big is a Flemish Giant? Well, with proper feed and care, they *might* get up to about 25 pounds. Don't believe me? Here's a pic of Mom's favorite Fawn doe of all time.  Her name was "Grandma" and we are very proud to have some of her offspring in our rabbits.

Flemish Giants come in many colors! These colors are recognized by the ARBA: sandy, fawn, REW(that's Ruby Eyed White), black, blue, steel, and chinchilla/light gray. We raise all colors.

These are some of our sandy-colored Flemish Giants.

This is currently our "star" buck in the Sandies.  He won BIB in National ARBA Ft. Worth Convention!! We are very pleased with him and he's throwing some really nice bunnies for us already.

This is one of our Senior Sandy does.  I believe she was nursing a litter of twelve when we took this photo.

This is another Senior Sandy buck.

This kit has light ticking; almost looks fawn. The black ticking should grow to be more prominent as it gets older.  It is so cute how the ears seem to be oversized in the young bunnies!  This one is a favorite because it's temperament is so sweet and lovable.

Here is a Senior Fawn buck that we no longer have, but we have him in our pedigrees.

This is a really nice Fawn doe that we mated to the buck above.

This is a really elderly Fawn buck that we started out with.  Sorry he is not in a posed position but we took this photo in a hurry in order to show something about him and it's the only one we had of him.

Here is Grandma, the Senior Fawn doe that most of our lines go back to.  She was so old that she had a double bun around her neck!  You can see a hint of it here if you look closely.

This is Fanny, a Senior Fawn Doe that we sold.

Here is Fanny's sister, Fauna.  I think she had a cow lick.  LOL

These FG are Light Grey/Chinchilla.

And this is a Light Gray buck that we started with.

This one is just a baby! Isn't it cute??

These are all littermates from a litter from our lines.

These are REW.

This Senior Doe was one of the biggest Flemish Giants we had ever seen.

This is a REW out of the doe above.  His name is Chris and he is a spoiled rotten bunny for sure!!  He surprised us by growing to be bigger than his mother, even though he was raised by a white Mini Rex doe for a while.  What a site that was!  We weaned him when he got as big as the Mini Rex doe and it was hilarious.

This is a Black buck named Grant when he was younger.

Here is a Black doe of about the same age.

And this is a Black Senior doe that really had good type and passed it on to her bunnies.

Another Black Senior Doe.

This is a Black junior doe.  She grew out to be very nice!

We now have several Blues.  Here is one of our Junior does.

We will have a photo of an excellent large-sized and show quality Blue buck here soon.  He was being raised outside and has a sun-tinted coat so we are waiting for it to grow out and show his true colors before we take his photo.

Next is a very interesting thing that we bred for in our rabbits.  We could not find good stock to start with so we had to breed for it ourselves - a real challenge, but we are so proud to have finally accomplished the genetic fete to get there!

We read in the guidebook for the National Flemish Giant Rabbit Breeders about how to get this and now we have many of them.  Judging from the interest they are creating among visitors to our farm, they are liking them as well.

This is probably best described as a Dark Chinchilla; the ticking is gold when young, but changes with age, as if a steel (and it might be, depending on who you talk to).  Some people might call this a "Sandy Steel" by it's genotype and what the known colors behind it are.  It came out of a Light Gray buck with a very long pedigree, crossed with Black and or Blue does that were sisters, and out of Black parents.  This kit is about 1-2 months old.  Notice the nice ears!

We'll also post some more updated photos of this color soon since we have so many of them.

This one almost looks light grey!

This one is only 5 months old!
