Below
is a list of all the characters that appear in Oak Valley. Along with
the names are brief biographies of each character, providing the reader
with some nice background information on the characters that they will
be reading about. Families are ordered from most wealthy to least
wealthy (at beginning of story), and characters are arranged
alphabetically within the family or residents at the home.
Washington
Jacob- The son of Keith
and Sara, and the brother of Violet. Jacob's hobbies are playing with
his sister, building sand piles and pyramids in their sandbox, and
playing on their play set. He also likes to play piano. While Jacob is
a smart kid, he can sometimes struggle in school. This is due to his
weak immune system, which causes him to become sick more often than
most children.
Keith- The man of the family. Keith is a worldwide renowned architect.
He's quite an accomplished man, who definitely enjoys his work. His
family means everything to him. All his dreams have come true, and now
all he wants is to be there to witness his children's dreams come true
as well. Keith built and designed the Washington home himself, with
some help on the building, of course.
Sara- Never having had to work a day in her life, Sara has been with
Keith ever since high school. The Prom Queen at Maple Mountain High
School, she's a beautiful woman. Sara enjoys taking care of her kids
and providing fun for all who are around her. Not the physical type,
Sara uses her charisma and feminine charm to accomplish her goals. She
loves Keith and he is one of the few things that truly matter to her in
the world.
Violet- Fond of reading, playing the piano, and looking through
telescopes, Violet is a controlled version of her brother Jacob. She
lacks his sense of mischief, but makes up for it with logic and an
ability to make friends with mostly anyone who comes near her. Violet
is in every sense of the phrase, the daughter that every parent wishes
they could have. Violet is headed for great things.
Woo
Lee-
While he is an aging
man, Lee manages to stay busy. A former member of the Yakuza, Lee has
left behind his roots in organized crime. However, he has not managed
to leave crime altogether. With a love for his wife, money, and crime,
Lee likes his life so much so that he prefers to let others take the
heat and do the majority of the work involved in his business of crime.
Mina- She is quite aware of her husband's choice of career and his
background. She is quite younger than him, and not as skilled in the
crime business, but still helps where she can. Mina is the social one
of the two, and is often the one who finds potential employers. Mina
enjoys socializing, cooking, and a good game of chess. The only thing
she loves more than money is her husband.
Little
Katie- An aspiring
actress, Katie is currently a waitress at the locally based Oak Valley
Inn. Not much is known about Katie's background, other than the fact
that her mother was a drug addict and her father was addicted to
gambling. She moved from Las Vegas to Oak Valley to get away from her
past, but she can't get away from the thing that she's been doing ever
since dropping out of high school, getting money.
Barrett
Chris-
Something of a bully, Chris' family was forced to move away from where
they used to live to escape the gang influence on Chris. Unfortunately,
it's had its effect on him, and now Chris pictures himself as a
bonafide gangster by the time he reaches high school. Chris' future is
bound to be a troubling one, and not many people have high hopes for
him, due to his lack of motivation to succeed in anything but being
cool.
Fred- It was never easy for Fred, growing up with parents that were
constantly drunk or in jail. He was always the bad kid in school, but
he has seen the error of his former ways, and is now trying to make an
honest living. It saddens him that Chris is taking the same path that
he took when he was young. He doesn't truly love his wife, and if it
wasn't for their mutual care for Chris, they would probably be living
as far away from each other as possible.
Sally- Formerly quite a bad person, Sally has managed to get away from
her past behavior. With the help of Fred, she quit smoking and
drinking. Now, she wants to see her son succeed in life, and her
husband out of her life, despite all he's done for her. Sally loves to
cook and serve food for her family and any others who wish to join them
during mealtime. Sally also loves to watch romance movies.
Hill
Ben- Ever since
childhood, Ben has had to look out for himself and his younger sister,
Cassie. Now, in their mid-twenties, they share a house in Oak Valley.
Ben works as a Daredevil, quite a dangerous line of work, with the
hopes of one day advancing to real jobs such being a whitewater guide.
In his free time, Ben likes to work on the computer, designing video
games and selling them to bigger video game companies.
Cassie- Very fond of her brother, Cassie has always appreciated his
efforts to keep her safe and under a roof. Now that they've got
themselves a solid living, she insists on him changing careers. She
worries that while he's watching out for her, he'll get hurt himself in
his job as a Daredevil. Cassie wants to have a child, but she is
unconfident in her potential as a parent, and has never found anyone
she cared to have a child with.
Bass/Stokes
Johnny Bass- The only
black person living in Oak Valley Estates, Johnny can sometimes become
insecure and tries to make up for it by being overconfident in himself.
He has just moved there with his roommate Kyle Stokes. He's the better
guitar player of the two, already establishing himself as a known
guitar player in places like Las Vegas and Reno. He prides himself on
his roots in the blues and jazz.
Kyle Stokes- Auditioned for a position as Johnny's partner back in
Reno, Kyle managed to impress Johnny by mixing his skill at playing
rock guitar with a song by Johnny and make it sound natural. Kyle came
from Nebraska and decided that life as a rockstar would be much more
fun than being a farmer like his father. Unfortunately, he hasn't
reached rockstar status yet, but he hopes to some day.
